How to Save Money at Healing Wise Holistic Veterinary Care
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

These gals are absolutely amazing! My dog has been going to different salons across the valley to see healing wise holistic for about 6 years. The owner is wonderful and attentive and loves dogs. Every time my senior dog goes to the vet or the groomer he gets complimented on how fresh his breath is and how white his teeth are and it’s because of this wonderful team hard at work. I love the fact it’s holistic and non anesthetic I wouldn’t dare put my baby under anesthesia when personally I feel like this crew does a better job at making the dogs feel calm and loved while getting their teeth cleaned. They send before and after pics of your pooch and everytime I am shocked and amazed I will attach pics of my 9 year old dogs teeth as well as a cute pic they sent me! Thank you again. I will going to you guys for as long as I own dogs (which is forever lol)

I signed up to get the anesthesia free teeth cleaning for my dog Zeke at Lugari salon, because they mentioned that he needed a deep cleaning to remove the tartar. The owner quoted me $210 for my dog Zeke, stating that was the price for a dog over 50lb. My dog Zeke is an Australian Shepherd mix weighing 62lb as of his last vet visit on 3-20-25. A few days before the appt, Lugari confirmed the price but said it would be $218 with a card. When I brought him in for the cleaning, a woman from Healing Wise greeted us and took him to the back for his preliminary exam, and she quickly brought him out to say there would be ANOTHER added charge, because he "weighed over 70lb." She claimed he weighed 72lb, and my jaw dropped. I said that's impossible, because the vet said he was only 62lb a few weeks earlier at the vet. There was no way a healthy dog his size could gain 10lb in just a few weeks. She argued with me, so I asked to see the scale. She brought it out and put it down, then put my dog Zeke on the scale, which continually flickered without ever settling on a number. I saw the numbers ranging from 68 to 70.1lb, and then it said 35lb, so they claimed it was invalid, but each time they tried to get a reading. it continued flickering. She kept telling Zeke, "no cheating," but the scale obviously did not work. I asked why it never stopped flickering, and they said it was because he was breathing, however it did the same thing with the receptionist standing on it. The dental lady had the gall to deny service to Zeke at the agreedupon price, and she said that I could bring him back after he had lost half a pound. Ridiculous and extremely unprofessional! It was clearly a faulty scale, and they are running a shady operation, scamming people for a few extra dollars! Why on earth would it be more difficult to clean the teeth of a dog weighing half a pound more, even if that was his true weight? I DO NOT RECOMMEND THESE SCAMMERS!

I had my chihuahuas teeth cleaned with no anesthesia at this place and I have nothing but great things to say! How is this even a thing or even possible?? I am a Dental Hygienist myself and was quite embarrassed that I had to bring my feisty pup in for a cleaning but he just refuses to have anything in his mouth. Dr. Jackie is amazing and supervised the entire time and even kept me updated on his status via text. Her Hygienists have an extremely special talent and magic in their hands! The dogs they were working on looked like they were in a trance or even sleeping while having their teeth cleaned. I was in such awe! I was very concerned that my defiant dog wouldn't cooperate and would be referred out, especially after he bit the vet! Yikes! They were just so patient and so great with him! His teeth look wonderful! I am so grateful and will be back with my other dog! Thank you from the bottom of my heart, as I know how important dental health is!

I wasn’t sure if my pup would allow anesthesia free dental cleaning but everything went great. Staff and vet were very caring and informative. I appreciate vet’s approach, expertise and experience. Looking forward to my pup’s next semi annual cleaning.
