We recently had to say goodbye to our sweet Lulu & Ever After Veterinary Care was absolutely incredible. They made such a heartbreaking day feel peaceful. From the moment they arrived, they were so kind, patient, and empathetic — it honestly felt like they truly cared about Lulu and our whole family. They explained everything to us so gently and took the time to talk to our kids in such a comforting way which was one of the hardest It never once felt rushed or clinical — just genuine compassion and care. They gave us the time we needed, treated Lulu with so much love, and helped us say goodbye in the most peaceful way possible. I can’t say enough good things about them. Our sweet boy Simba experienced a couple of urinary blockages, and we ultimately had to make the incredibly difficult decision to let him go. We’re so grateful to Dr. Eileen and her team for making his final moments so loving and peaceful. Being able to say goodbye to him at home meant the world to us, and we can’t thank them enough for the compassion and comfort they gave during such a hard time.

Our animals become our family and when the difficult decision is made to say goodbye, it’s utterly heartbreaking. We do not forget them, they will always be in our memories, but how we say goodbye can weigh heavy on our heart. Years ago, I was left heartbroken and traumatized because I was not able to peacefully say goodbye to my dog. He had cancer and it should have been a more peaceful ending, but we ended up in an emergency veterinarian office. Years later, I had to make the difficult decision to say goodbye to my other dog, Banjo, and I vowed to make the experience as peaceful as I could. Dr. McCarthy helped guide my family in giving Banjo the best quality of life until his last breath. “His last day doesn’t have to be a bad day.” We lived by this phrase Dr. McCarthy shared, and spent the weekend spoiling and doing everything Banjo loved. Dr. McCarthy has a special gift, you can feel her empathy and love without her saying a word. Her passion for animals shows in her approach and kindness. Because of Dr. McCarthy we were able to say goodbye to our sweet boy in the comfort of our home, in our favorite chair, in my arms. His last breath was peaceful, I know he wasn’t scared or traumatized, he was loved. Thank you Dr. McCarthy, thank you for sharing your special gift, and for filling our room with even more love during a difficult time.
