How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Desert Hills Animal Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

I cannot express enough how much I appreciate Dr. C and the DH staff. My pets have been patients for more than a couple years now. I know my pets receive the most genuine and quality care. This is the greatest place to bring my fur babies. They all work so hard, always great service, and provide necessary treatment/options for your pet’s needs. Recently, we had to say goodbye to our 17 year-old chihuahua. It was such a hard day. Dr. C and the staff were there for us at every moment. They checked on us and sent a heartfelt note. I can only say great things about Desert Hills, my pets always feel comfortable here.

Our dogs have been patients of Dr. Cellers for more than a decade. He is the most practical, straight shooting, yet compassionate vet we have ever met. But a big key to his practice has always been his front office and vet techs. How he manages to find and keep these people is what separates the great vet practices from the really great ones. This is a REALLY great one.

So thankful I found Dr. Cellars! He and his team have been amazing. I love how caring they are and how well Dr. Cellars explains anything going on with my pups.

Dr. Cellars has been our vet for over 25 years. Today I made a personal decision to have our 15 year old Dachshund Fritzie be put to sleep. He had lots of health issues and it was just time for our boy. Dr. Cellars and his staff were so kind and compassionate to me and my beloved dog during this process. With their compassion and kindness, I was able to let go of my best friend and know that I made the right decision. Thank you Dr. Cellars and Haley for honoring and respecting Fritzie’s last moments with me. I am so touched for the kindness I experienced in your office today. Thank you !

My buddy Max was with me for 17 wonderful years He was such a sweet boy and great companion. Towards the end I was having trouble with letting him go. I didn't want to let go too soon but I didn't want to hold on too long and have him suffer. I didn't want to lose him. I wanted more time. Dr. Cellars examined Max then explained to me what was going on and how he was doing. He explained the procedure, what to expect, asked if I had any questions. He left the room and allowed me to have as much time with Max as I needed both before and then again after his passing. I appreciate the compassion and kindness of Dr Cellars and his staff. He cares about the well being of and what's in the best interest of the pets he sees.
