How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Camelback Animal Clinic
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Getting to Know Your Veterinarian

Experience
Ask whether the clinic has experience treating your specific type of pet, since care can vary between dogs, cats, and pocket pets.
Emergency Care Procedures

Communication Preferences
Ask how the clinic communicates with pet parents, including updates, test results, and follow up questions.
Breed Specific Health Considerations
Some breeds may be more prone to certain health conditions. Early awareness can help with prevention and early treatment.
Facility Tour
If available, touring the clinic can help you and your pet feel more comfortable before the first visit.

My dog Lola had an urgent issue. She had licked her paws raw. Our regular vet had no openings and I found Camelback Animal Hospital and took a chance to see if they had any availability for same day. They did! Staff was super nice, vet was great and treated my Lola. Thank you for being available, caring, knowledgeable, and prescribing Lola the medication she needs to heal and get better 🤗

Do not go to this vet if your dog has diabetes. They never have insulin on them so if you run out you will be in the dark. They change $3.00 per needle to administer the medication. We took him for hypoglycemic seizures and there was literally no concern by any of the staff. With telling us he’s fine, our dog died 2 days later. He is the worst vet we have ever gone to concerning diabetic animals. He gave us a prescription for human insulin instead vetsulin because they were out. They did not do a glucose cure to make sure the new insulin worked for him. We had to put our dog down soon after

This vet is compassionate, kind, caring and loves animals. They are reasonably priced and informative and every single person sped me and my family and my pets love. They saved my cat after the emergency vet tried to kill her and they saved my stray dog who was pregnant and having babies. They truly are one of a kind and I would recommend them to anyone! We have multiple animals across the years here and when no other vet had an appointment for a basic check up they did. I went and I have never been upset at making that decision. Nesta, Cleo, Binks and now Daisy and her 8 pups thanks this vet for bringing back what it’s about the animals. Thank you!!!!

THIS CLINIC KILLED MY PUPPY!! AVOID AT ALL COST!! I brought my HEALTHY 3 month old puppy in for a routine check up. Dr. Cruz suggested an antibiotic shot based on what “sounds” like minor stages of a respiratory infection. No other test were done. No X-rays or anything. So like any concerned pet owner I took Dr. Cruz word on the antibiotic shot. After paying hundreds of dollars for other test being done including the shot. My puppy is returned to me gasping for air and clearly having trouble breathing. Dr. Cruz THEN takes an xray of my puppy just to tell me his lungs are now swollen, he then takes us to a back room where my puppy is put on an oxygen tank by a women who is wearing street clothes, not scrubs like the rest of the nurses. Also during this stressful time of my puppy fighting for his life, there are children who came in from the waiting room to play with the overnight staying animals in the cages in the back of the clinic. It was at this time Dr. Cruz tells me and my wife that we should take him to Blue Pearl because his clinic does not have the equipment to keep my puppy alive. We then rush my puppy to the clinic where he dies 2 hours after his injection. Dr. Cruz has yet to reimburse me for that vet visit or even for my puppy. All he has to say is to “know what I’m getting myself into when purchasing French bulldogs” (the breed of my puppy). And that he will call his insurance and they will give us a call. It’s now been a month since my puppy has died and I haven’t heard from him nor his insurance company. AVOID THIS CLINIC!
