How to Save Money at Maricopa Wells Veterinary Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Great Vet!! She was really sweet to our two kids. She took extra time to talk to me about certain things. Just moving to Maricopa, she will be our vet going forward.

Best vet I've ever had to this day. From very busy, helpful multitasking front desk personnel Danielle, wonderful Alexa whom trims nails like the gentlest, experienced artist lumberjack, the knowledgeable, patient & kind, very compassionate technician Katlyn, and of course the only vet there, Dr. V. It was $65 for new patient apmnt, and each visit after, they don't push un necessary expensive testing on you. After watching my furbaby bolt away from 2 other vets exams at other places, I was SO glad that Dr. V was gentle in her exam. My dog was so relaxed even though he was in pain that he acted more like he was getting a full body massage than an exam from Dr. V!! The only downside I could possibly advise is that, as most buisness in Maricopa, they are SUPER busy at all times. For emergencies a drive to Chandler VEG is needed. However, my first appointment was able to be made within a week vs the only other vet in this city who books out a month in advance!!! So if you need a same day apmnt. even if you are already a client, due to staffing size, they try to get you in as soon as possible. But even if it's urgent, it's wait a few days or get to Chandler. Personally, if it's not life or death, Dr. V is worth the wait. The entire staff is very calm and treats all patients well, especially as busy as they are.

I love everything about Maricopa Wells Veterinary hospital. You are welcomed when you enter, and the staff at the front office are wonderful and so helpful in getting you checked in. The wait time was very close to my appointment time which now a days is unusual. The patient room was very clean and comfortable. The tech that helped us was very kind and helpful and really cared about Gracie, and why she was being seen. She let Gracie warm up to her and Gracie stopped shaking and trusted her. Normally Gracie has terrible separation anxiety, but she was able to leave with her and was okay and happy when she returned. Now let's get to Doctor. I could not have asked for a more compassionate and caring doctor for my sweet little Gracie. She greeted us when she came in and was so kind and gentle with Gracie. Gracie had her first adult boo boo. The doctor addressed it with me in such and helped explain what was going on with her and what the best treatment would be for her. Her knowledge was so appreciated because I like understanding and learning so that I know what to watch for. She took all the time that I needed which I really appreciate it. This is a true professional. The doctor really cares about her patients and the families that care for them. If you need a good family doctor for your loved one she's definitely a great doctor. I give her ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I can’t say enough good things about my experience with Dr V & her veterinary team! They have been absolutely amazing with my baby Roxy. From the moment we walk in, the staff is always friendly, supportive, and genuinely caring. You can tell they truly love animals and treat each pet like their own. I'm so grateful to have found a vet that I can trust and who clearly cares about the well-being of my fur baby. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a caring and professional veterinary team!
