How to Save Money at Marana Veterinary Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
I moved from another state where I had lived for a long time. And I had finally found a really good veterinary there a year before I left so finding Marana veterinarian clinic, the first time after I moved here was absolutely wonderful. So caring so kind. This is definitely where I'll take any and all of my animals. Annie is our last of 8 dogs. We had rescued several throughout the year. all our big dogs have passed away since, she has been having a hard time being the only dog but she has learned to be the little princess, daddy's baby girl. Thank you all so much.

They are the best vet we've ever been too. They are loving, compassionate, and take great care of your pet. They are very affordable and they truly care about keeping your pet healthy. Also extremely knowledgeable. We wouldn't ever go to another office after coming here.

I’m very disappointed with my experience at Marana Vet Clinic. I called them because my dog’s breathing was very strange and I was really worried. I explained the situation when scheduling, and they told me the earliest available appointment was Monday at 9 AM, so I took it. I waited all weekend for that appointment, thinking they would be able to help her once we got there. When we arrived, the staff asked if that was how her breathing had been, and when I said yes, they told me they didn’t have any oxygen or equipment to help with breathing issues and that I needed to take her to an emergency clinic instead. I was shocked and upset that they let me make the appointment for something they weren’t equipped to handle, ESPECIALLY after I CLEARLY told them it was a breathing issue. If they had informed me of that over the phone, I could have taken her to an emergency vet sooner. To make things worse, while checking in, the front desk repeatedly referred to my dog as “he,” even after I corrected them several times. It may seem small, but it showed a lack of attention and care during an already stressful situation. Unfortunately, I later found an urgent care that could see her right away, but by then, it was too late, and we had to make the heartbreaking decision to euthanize her. I take responsibility for not seeking emergency care sooner, but I truly wish this clinic had communicated more clearly that they didn’t have the ability to treat breathing issues as it could have made a difference. I won’t be bringing my pets back here, and I hope the clinic improves its communication and compassion with future clients.

The best of the best! I have taken my dogs here for years, wouldn’t ever consider going any place else. Not only do they really know how to keep your pet healthy, they are so kind. They will fit you in for any emergency visit and prices are hard to beat! They rock!

I am so grateful to the wonderful folks at Marana Veterinary Clinic for immediately finding time the day before Thanksgiving to help my tiny dog who was having breathing problems. Dr. Wengert was so kind and thorough, found the problems and started her on medications which on this day after Thanksgiving have shown good effect. I recommend Marana Veterinary Clinic, it is where I will continue to take my furry family.
