I had an unfortunate experience with VCA animal hospital recently. When I brought my dog in for an exam, the doctor recommended a follow-up visit a month later for his rabies shot, and I received an estimate. On the second visit, my dog was given the shot, but during checkout, I was surprised to be charged for another exam along with the shot. What bothered me even more was that the vet didn't even check my dog's temperature before giving him the shot, yet they claimed a dog exam was performed. This incident left me feeling deceived and disappointed in their level of care for my fur baby. It's disheartening to see a place prioritize profits over genuine concern for animals' well-being. I've had positive experiences with many other veterinarians who genuinely love animals, but unfortunately, I won't be returning to VCA. I hope my review helps others make informed decisions about their pet's care.

Heart breaking ...Dr . MAKLEY gave us two choices . 3800 dollars or euthanasia It was just a tooth. In which he shed on his own. Doing great, eating like crazy . We are hoping for many years to come. An update...Our Ten year old kittie is doing really good. No tooth issues With the diagnosis from Dr Makley, it was a big vet bill....or euthanasia. THANK, God!!!. We went with our gut. He is doing great. Beware ! They are all looking to make a buck. P.S. We did spend 200.00 plus for the office call and meds. Which we did not use. Our kitties figured it out naturally

At Roxy’s last vet appointment, the vet detected a heart murmur. I was told I might want to find someone who could do an image or other test of her heart to establish a baseline. Easier said than done! Everyone I called either couldn’t help or the appointment was 8 months out or the lines were busy and I could leave a message. When I called VCA Animal Hospital in Apache Junction, my call was answered by the most helpful receptionist. I was able to get an appointment the following week. I couldn’t be more pleased with my experience at Roxy’s appointment. Debbie, the tech, did a great job and clearly explained costs. The veterinarian, Dr Lister was amazing. She was very caring and spent time doing an exam and explaining Roxy’s issues. At the same appointment, I mages were taken of Roxy’s heart. Dr Lister gave me a clear explanation of what the images meant. I felt so much better afterward from the information I gained from Dr Lister. I want to give my dog good care and the staff at VCA did a great job in taking the time to examine Roxy and in providing me information about her health.

Thanks to Vet Techs Debbie and Taryn and Vet Dr. Snyder, our terrier puppy's first medical visit was a positive experience. Appreciate they took time to earn Rusty's trust and were very skilled at calming him during procedures. Dr. Snyder was knowledgeable and helpful in explaining the many steps involved in caring for a new puppy. Rusty loved the attention he received during his visit and will be easy to bring back.

We started taking our dogs here last year when we moved to AJ. Staff is personable and caring. All three of our dogs love going to the vet now! Be prepared to be booked 3 weeks out for appointments. All vet offices are like this nowadays.
