How to Save Money at All Cats Clinic

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

These are cat people. They know cats. They love cats. That’s why they treat only cats. Dr Larson understands that cats are family, not just pets, and she practices evidence-based medicine, good sciencey stuff. Everyone is very kind, both to cats and to their people. The clinic is immaculate. My person is a doctor, and if they like this clinic, you can bet it’s good. Worth the 20-mile drive we make to see the doc. Best vet ever!

Dr. Larson has seen our cats for six years. She treated them well. However the service from this clinic has gone downhill steadily. They seem chronically overwhelmed and understaffed. We were empathetic at first but enough is enough. Something needs to be done other than blaming clients for their "negativity" (see photo).

Dr. Larson and her team are the best! They are skilled and compassionate. We had to part with our cat due to liver cancer, and they were great helping us during this traumatic event. I would recommend All Cats Clinic to anyone whose cat needs attending.

I would never typically write a review like this for a small business owner. I am highly dissatisfied with the level of care the veterinarian provides for her clients and staff. Since I started seeing All Cats Clinic, I’ve felt belittled for use of litter and food choices which is starting to feel typical when receiving treatment for an animal. I’ve received insufficient amounts of information provided for treatment and procedures. When looking for a veterinarian to trust with your animal's health I would keep searching because you will not receive help from the vet or the staff. If I was previously informed that kittens can be spayed as early as 3 months, I would not have hesitated to proceed due to the amount of weight the kitten had been gaining. Originally, I was not scheduled to have my kitten spayed until November at age 6 months but because she was gaining weight so rapidly, her appointment was moved up to October. My kitten went into heat in September. The technicians are horribly misinformed when relaying information, some examples include telling me that dogs are unable to be spayed after they go into heat, had multiple scheduling issues because they're writing the information manually, do not reply to emails in an appropriate time frame. Even yesterday when I took the kitten to get spayed the Cat Clinic door was locked and the lights were out. I was not notified of the correct address, I was late for work after being told to drop my cat off between the hours of 7-9 am “like usual.” I called this morning to ask what happened and was only met with the deflection of responsibility on their part and will not be returning here after the levels of unprofessionalism I have witnessed throughout every appointment.

If I could give 0 stars I would. The employees here are not understanding to the emotional needs of some who has to help their cat cross the rainbow bridge. I came with my mother bc she needed to to help her elderly cat move on. I requested that I pay for it while NOT around my mother as it would symbolize a finality to her of her cats life. The receptionist FOLLOWED us to the examination room and REQUESTED payment there! Unbelievable! So yes I agree with previous reviewers that this place seems to be money hungry and everyone working their has a chip on their shoulder. Not to mention all the unnecessary products they pushed on my mom for her elderly cat.
