How to Save Money at Parvin Animal Clinic

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I have yet to have any sort of negative experience here. From the staff working up front to the ones in the back taking care of our fur babies, they're all amazing and so caring. The compassion is on another level that few other clinics can uphold. My 2 cats, my 5 year old mini Aussie & my new puppy Aussie all have a new trusted vet and those are hard to come by! I will recommend Parvin Animal Clinic to any and everyone! You won't be disappointed and you'll be treated like family, because you are to them. I'm so thankful for these amazing people that take care of our fur babies day in and day out!

First I will say our animals have been treated just fine and satisfactory care but honestly customer satisfaction and care are a 1 star for me. We have had more than one incident where they been NOT been helpful and told us to come back. My dogs have gone there for 4 years, I made an appointment for just nail trim for both dogs. My female dog was taken back to have her nails trimmed without me, she is very sweet just a bit timid. They come back 5 or so minutes later after I have paid for both dogs and say we were unsuccessful with clipping her nails. So I asked, May I please come back with her and I’m sure it will be no problem as she has had them done many times before here. She said let me check with Dr, Dr Kat then comes out to lobby and says NO we don’t have time to do it today, we tired. We will refund your money and you can come back after you make another appointment. Are you kidding me, I just drove 20 minutes, waited 20 minutes for you to take her back, she was back there for maybe 5 minutes and then you tell me you can’t. So you would like me to drive home and come back another day, NO please can we do it now I work 8-5 Mon-Fri. No sorry we don’t have time any more today. So they refunded my money and that was the last straw. We will not be returning. This behavior seems to be a reflection that it’s all about money and not about the customer at all. They didn’t care that I had now been there 36 minutes( as my male dog went first and had no issues), drove 20 minutes to get there, they couldn’t take 5 minutes to let me be there with her and cut her nails and she had a nail that needed to be trimmed bad and was hurting her. They wanted me to make another appt and come back. This was the last straw, as the prices have increased and we have received service like this before and today I feel very much like they don’t care at all about my time or satisfying the customer. It was just NO.

Dr. Parvin and his staff are wonderful! Dr. Parvin always takes his time, answers all questions, and is very thorough. They truly care about your animals! If my dogs are sick they would call the next day to check on them. This office is the best and I would 100% recommend!!

TL:DR - IF YOU'RE NEW TO THE AREA, YOU'D DO WELL TO PICK THESE FOLKS AS YOUR VETERINARIAN!!! Business looks to have been in operation for about 20 years and despite maintaining a clean and improved facility (parking lot had just been repaved at time of visit) their pricing schedule was incredibly fair ON TOP of having a considerate and competent staff!! AAA+ Took my girlfriend's cat here for an urgent care appointment that the front desk squeezed in (their first concern was the cat, NOT whether or not she was a new patient or their busy schedule) earlier this week and I have to say that Dr. Kat and the entire staff earned a permanent client. They fit my fur-bundle in on short notice, and were the epitome of kind, friendly, gentle and competent.
