How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Care Animal Center

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

We came to Care Animal Center due to word of mouth. In a local Dothan FB group many people said this clinic was excellent. After our previous bad experience at Westwood after the original vet retired, I decided to get Belly in for her annual and she also had a recently developed itching and redness problem. From the front desk to the vet techs to Dr Long, we were treated professionally. I especially like that, as a pet owner, Dr Long and the vet techs were respectful to me and maintained a nice line of communication about my girl particularly in reference to two medications she was being prescribed. Dr Long made sure to address all my concerns and didn't rush me out the door. In comparison to the last 2 vet clinics I've used, I found the prices here were reasonable and not overly inflated. Belly's last vet visit 2 years ago was nearly $300 without medications. This time it was just over $350 which included a year of Heartworm meds plus 2 additional prescriptions. Overall, I have nothing but positive things to say for Care Animal Center.

Awesome visit Dr Holland was great. This will be my boys vet. Was hard to see a new vet after seeing the same vet for 30 years. Was at peace with the choice. ❤️🖤🤎

We are new to the area and they were so incredibly helpful getting us a quick appointment for our fur baby. Everyone in the office was incredibly kind and Dr Duke was very informative and caring. I can't wait for them to meet the rest of our furry family members.
