How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Madison Veterinary Emergency

Preventive care

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

I was recommended to this emergency clinic by my primary vet’s office when they were closed. I want to highlight that the receptionist who answered my call was very kind, compassionate and allowed me to bring my senior kitty in that very same day. She did explain the vet was currently performing surgery and it may take a while before being seen. Dr. Tucker was the one who saw us and she’s exceptional and was very knowledgeable as well as kind. She explained what treatment would be like and the staff explained treatment costs. In the end, we had to consider putting our cat down as she was too sick for treatment to be effective. I knew this, and it was a tough decision. I want to thank the staff for showing my cat loving and kindness as well as compassion during her last moments. Only negative thing I can say is while we were waiting in the examining room, we heard a lot of raucous from the back area where staff sounded like they were laughing and having loud conversations. It’s not a very good feeling while we were dealing with basically a dying cat and having to wait for 3 hours. It often leaves you wondering if anything could’ve been done to maybe save Penny or if we could’ve left in half the time.

I highly recommend Madison Veterinary Emergency for any and all emergency related issues for your fur babies. From the first contact over the phone, to when we thought we we're gonna have to make a regrettable decision, now post surgery.. our sweet boy Rex is doing so much better thanks to this facility and their amazing staff. They gave us clear instructions for his post surgery care and even during the procedure they kept us informed. Now he's home and reunited with his sister. I would recommend this place 1000x over. Thank you all again🥹🙏🏾

We had a great experience here. My cat is skittish so I was so happy when the staff immediately put us into our own room (which I’m sure has to do with availability and can’t always be depended upon). The staff who examined her were very calm and gentle and allowed my cat time to adjust to the room and to their presence before the necessary examination of her injury. I was genuinely shocked that my cat never hissed or tried to get away. I was able to leave the office while her procedure was done so while it did take several hours I wasn’t trapped at the office. Instruction on how to take care of her and deliver medication was clear. Hopefully I will never need to ER Vet again but I know i will come here if I ever do.

Our big German shepherd, BJ, was in a really shape with diarrhea and vomiting, our vet could not see him but gave us the number for Madison veterinary emergency. These people are amazing! Very kind and very thorough and the pricing was on par with everyone else in the field. We feel like they saved him and we are forever grateful. If you have a pet emergency, this is the place to go

We’ve been to this location before and had great experiences, but this visit meant so much more. We had to make the incredibly difficult but necessary decision to let our sweet girl cross the rainbow bridge, and the patience, compassion, and care shown to both her and our family brought us so much peace during such a heartbreaking time. Dr. Moyers was incredibly thorough and kind in explaining everything, helping us feel confident in our decision (which was honestly an easy one due to the age of our senior girl). Our technician, D’Andrea, was truly amazing: so supportive, attentive to every question and request (even helping us DoorDash a cheeseburger for our girl), and took such gentle care of her. We are beyond grateful to this team for walking alongside us with so much compassion. Thank you for making such a hard moment a little more bearable.
