I have carried FIGO on my bulldog since she was a puppy. It is expensive! Especially her breed and it goes up every year as she gets older. She is going on 4 years old. Some years I never met the deductible and thought what a waste, do I really need insurance? Which was good, that meant she was healthy. Other years I was very glad I had it paid in full. She had two emergency health issues, one life or death. I was comfortable knowing that a $ was not the deciding factor if she would come home or not. When I was in the waiting room wondering if she would make it, I would have given the world to have her back in my arms. So if I have to scrimp and save, brown bag it, and work overtime to keep her healthy and insured, I am willing to pay the price. Sacrifices have to be made for those you love.
There are so many different options available, everyone should be able to find a plan they can afford. Customer service is always willing to crunch numbers and run different scenarios with you to find a plan with our budget. They take time with you and don't pressure you to buy more than you can afford. It takes some time, some thought, and budgeting but you will be glad you have a little help in the end.
I have never had a claim denied, just put on "hold" waiting for clarification notes from the vet. Customer service has always replied within 24 hours and claims are paid quickly. I have found FIGO support to be helpful, compassionate, and professional both on the phone and through emails.
The only con is... the premiums. They go up every year (with her age) by $300+ a year.
