I was a novice with using pet insurance…

I was a novice with using pet insurance for our new puppy. This means not knowing anything about pet insurance or insurance coverages. After researching insurance companies we chose FIGO and various coverages. Monthly payments were made and eventually a need for reimbursement arose. Although the amount wasn't exactly what I expected the claims were paid and an agent explained the process in full. We have renewed our annual membership and have been pleased with our coverages.

Quick to set up, but not good

I went with Figo to see how they compared to Nationwide. I like their direct deposit approach to paying people back. However, the claim option did not work when I tried. I had to submit my claim through email and they did not cover as much as Nationwide. I am going back to Nationwide

My experience with Figo has been…

My experience with Figo has been fantastic. My rescue pooch needed a TPLO surgery just 10 months after I rescued her, They came thru on the bills with no questions asked. Excellent policy and staff to help upload the billing receipts or help with forms.

FIGO is a great insurance company

FIGO is a great insurance company. That is a difficult statement for me to make since I have been a trial lawyer for over 40 years and have dealt with insurance companies in a variety of situations. The thing that sets FIGO apart is the quick processing and personal communication. My dog Zoey recently had what is called a TPLO surgical procedure because she tore her cruciate ligament. As soon as the surgery was completed, the various bills were sent to the insurance company. They were processed in short order without haggling or argument. While the injury, surgery and rehab were definitely not pleasant, our dealings with Figo were exceptional. Alfred L.

Monthly Cost

$9 to $135 on average depending on chosen plan.

Coverage

You choose a reimbursement level of 70%, 80%, 90% or 100% after your deductible. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

Annual limit of $5,000, $10,000 or unlimited depending on your chosen plan.

Deductible

$100, $250, $500, $750, $1,000 or $1,500 annually. Deductibles offered depend on pet’s age and location.

Age Limits

Must be 8 weeks or older to enroll. No upper age limits apply.

Waiting Period

1-day for accidents, 14 days for illnesses, 6 months for hip dysplasia and orthopedic conditions. (Both hip dysplasia and orthopedic condition waiting periods can be waived by having exam/waiver form completed by veterinarian)

Exclusions

Curable pre-existing conditions may be eligible for coverage if symptom free for 12 months Conditions arising from a repetitive and specific activity, eg. Ingestion foreign object, ear infection caused by water, snake bites, etc. – excluded after 3 occurrences We now have a wellness option We have a diminishing deductible Copay & deductible waived for emergency life-saving treatment (in the case of an accident, not illness)
