Horrible Insurance - Stay Away

Figo does not honor their insurance - and goes out of their way to say no. I took dog to the ER vet for a severely torn toenail. They had to sedate my dog to remove it. Figo denied the claim saying that the ER diagnostic fee is not covered and that the toenail procedure cost was in excess. This is my first claim, and the total bill was around $440. Less my $250 deductible and 80% average, Figo should have paid out about $150. Why have insurance if I can’t use it? This policy was purchased through Costco.

No one calls you when there are issues…

No one calls you when there are issues with claim. All my claims keep on getting declined and closed. Never had this experience with a pet insurance

Price-wise

Price-wise, as a Costco member, the price is superior. I haven't actually used the benefits yet, but a friend did and she was very pleased by how well making a claim went.

Wow-Quick and Easy!

Wow! My first claim and it was quick as lightning! My dog went in for his annual shots and I sent a photo of the paid bill and within minutes, an email came that I was getting back $50 (of a $75 bill)! Easy peasy!

I have a rescue dog who needed back surgery

I have a rescue dog who needed back surgery about 6 weeks after I got him. I had signed up for Figo insurance the beginning of November 2022. He had surgery the beginning of December 2002. The surgery was close to $10,000. I have never had a problem applying to get payments for anything to do with his surgery. They have always been so easy to work with. I was so glad that I chose Figo.

Monthly Cost

$9 to $135 on average depending on chosen plan.

Coverage

You choose a reimbursement level of 70%, 80%, 90% or 100% after your deductible. The pay-out amount is based on your actual vet bill.

Payout Limits

Annual limit of $5,000, $10,000 or unlimited depending on your chosen plan.

Deductible

$100, $250, $500, $750, $1,000 or $1,500 annually. Deductibles offered depend on pet’s age and location.

Age Limits

Must be 8 weeks or older to enroll. No upper age limits apply.

Waiting Period

1-day for accidents, 14 days for illnesses, 6 months for hip dysplasia and orthopedic conditions. (Both hip dysplasia and orthopedic condition waiting periods can be waived by having exam/waiver form completed by veterinarian)

Exclusions

Curable pre-existing conditions may be eligible for coverage if symptom free for 12 months Conditions arising from a repetitive and specific activity, eg. Ingestion foreign object, ear infection caused by water, snake bites, etc. – excluded after 3 occurrences We now have a wellness option We have a diminishing deductible Copay & deductible waived for emergency life-saving treatment (in the case of an accident, not illness)
