How to Save Money at VCA North Division Animal Medical Center
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
This was my first time at this vca location. The veterinarian and vet techs were incredible. My dog is a very anxious girl and they made her very comfortable and I trusted them to treat her without me in the room. The front desk was also very helpful and friendly. Will 100% be coming back!!!

Front desk staff were amazing but the prices for services were insane and the vet tech and vet didn’t seem to be very experienced in fear free care. They also had me waiting in an empty lobby typically for 20 minutes past my appointment time (or close to it every single time I went in). I’d even hear the receptionist tell someone if they were 7 minutes late they’d have to reschedule and it made me laugh a little because if they followed their own policy I’d be owed a lot of late fees. To clarify these were also mid morning appointments in the middle of the week and nobody else came or went from the lobby except one cat. Either they aren’t staffing properly or they just are being lazy about start times.

I found a dog that was in the middle of a busy street and this was the 3rd place that I went to as a safe place to drop him off. Everywhere else that I went to couldn't take him and I have 3 dogs at home so I wasnt able to take him either. They technically werent allowed to take him. After the staff members and I were calling different places, resources, with no luck. The staff members graciously took the dogs off my hands to make sure he had a safe place to stay. I would trust them with my 3 dogs, and if I lived in town I would be going to them.

Worst vet we've ever been to. We adopted a puppy yesterday and this place called me today to offer a free screening of our puppy. I figured it would be nice to know a bit more about our new family member so we went. I ended up answering the same questions to four people and it was like in one ear and out the other with all of them. I don't think anyone wrote anything down and the whole time they kept asking the same things, they had all the information in hand. The vet came in and immediately gave our puppy a treat and I asked her to please stop feeding my dog. She ignored me and balled a treat up in her fist and put it eye level with our puppy. We are in the middle of training her not to chew or nibble on hands but now she has a fist with a treat in it she is chewing on. I tried to get her to stop chewing and the vet said " it's ok I have a treat in my hand". Now I'm getting irritated with the lack of awareness. We're training her not to chew, you're going to let her chew on you then plan to reward her with a treat when she's done?? The vet was mad at me when I asked her again to not feed our puppy. These people are lethargic at best. We will never return to this place and I would strongly recommend no one else come here either. Complete waste of our time No you shouldn't be reassured you met our expectations because you fell completely short of them all. We didn't even have high expectations coming here and you didn't even meet those. You clearly didn't read ( or can't comprehend) the review, just like everyone we delt with there. You need to take a step back and reflect on how you go about your work day. Also you said no service rendered and you kept the voucher for a free check up. You people are not only disrespectful you're despicable.

I brought my new puppy Huck to VCA North Division and had a great experience. The staff was exceptional, friendly and so helpful. They have been so good with Huck, very patient and caring. Huck loves going to see his vet, Dr. Peterson. Huck was having dental issues and Dr. Peterson quickly recognized the issue and took Huck to surgery. The surgery went well, and Huck recovered without issue. I’m happy to say he is thriving and has not had any further issues. We are so lucky we found Dr. Peterson at VCA North Division. If you care about your dog or cat, go to VCA North Division. You’ll be happy you did!
