How to Save Money at Vetco Vaccination Clinic
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
I got in right on time for my appointment. However I had to wait in line to get seen. Plus while checking in I was told that I was going to have to pay. I argued that. I was told on my initial appointment that I would not need to pay for anything on my return trip for boosters and one of the shots we delayed till the booster appointment. I paid because he told me the initial shots would not be effective without them. I signed the visit consent including statement "under protest". I used you all to save money. I'm on fixed income and $103 unexpected cost is huge. I've never had to return for boosters before that I can recall. I'm very unhappy. I would have gone to my local vet. It in the long run would have been cheaper for me by a large margin.

Efficient operation as always. Very helpful staff person took time to explain all my choices of combo vaccines plus deworming options. Then shopped for goodies as a reward for my dog.Thank you, Petco!

Frustrating experience unfortunately- first time taking my own pet to this clinic though I've helped with family bringing their dog in previously and the experience has been positive. I have an almost 5 mo old puppy who needs his rabies vaccine and when I noticed they had a clinic this weekend it was a perfect opportunity to get it done. Did not see anywhere when booking that they will not give rabies vaccine if any other vaccine has been administered in the last 3-4 weeks...which makes getting a puppy vaccinated next to impossible given the standard schedule. I was unable to keep appointment as 5mo pup had gotten a combo vaccine at home within that time. This is unfortunate and a bit frustrating- as a vet office will give a rabies vaccine with other vaccines at the same visit....but I do understand from a liability standpoint. I did not appreciate feeling what I would call a "dismissively pleasant" attitude when I relayed the information that I gave a combo vaccine myself at home. (I am an experienced nurse who has had livestock and pets my entire life- I am fairly qualified to properly vaccinate what I can at home....not that the staff member checking me in was aware.) When I expressed frustration that this 3-4 week poilcy was not anywhere I noted when scheduling, I was told "that is the risk with vaccinating at home- you don't get any medical advice". I told them it is not medical advice I needed, or the home vaccine I was referring to. I would have appreciated not making an extra trip if I had seen a disclosure about THEIR policy. I will definitely not be attempting a return visit and will either use a different mobile service that is less dismissive or just spend the extra cost to get the rabies done at our vet. It is disappointing because this type of interaction could actually discourage a customer/owner from maintaining proper vaccinations. TLDR: Do not schedule if you have had any vaccines for your pet in the last month- they have a policy that is not super apparent at givingg a 3-4 week safety window for reactions. Staff was not inappropriate but did show their ignorance in how they spoke with me. Definitely more frustrating to me given my medical experience both professional and personal.
