How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Village Veterinary Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

We were in yesterday for our 2 year old rescue pup's annual checkup. Dr. Brown was new to us, but took excellent care (as Dr. Foote has also given us). Dr. Brown was very caring, thorough, and calming with our energetic girl. She found and treated a common skin condition that we were grateful she pointed out. We left with instruction as to caring for the issue, knowing we can check back if need be. GREAT staff at Village Veterinary Hospital. Been going for 2 decades. The new staff are every bit as excellent as had been previously. Thankful for such wonderful folks here in Bellingham! Highly recommend!

The doctors and staff here are all so friendly and obviously love and care for their patients very much. I always know my fur babies are getting the very best care in a clean, modern, top quality hospital. The prices are are reasonable and I don’t usually have to wait forever for an appointment. We all love our visits here!

Dr. Brown was wonderful. Knowledgeable, kind, with a great bedside manner. Clear communication, asks good questions and listens, too. Our dog is reactive and a little high maintenance, but Dr. Brown and all staff members handled him so well, with confidence and kindness.

We had an exemplary experience at Village Veterinary yesterday. Everyone in the clinic was warm and friendly, and Dr. Foote was the best combination of efficiency, clear communication and warmth toward our old terrier and us, too. We have had pets and veterinarians (good and not so good) for decades, and honestly this was the best veterinary visit we’ve ever had.
