How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Lighthouse Veterinary Care for Cats

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

I cannot praise the Lighthouse Veterinary Care for Cats staff enough. I am a new patient who had a bad experience with my sweet, sick kitty at a different practice. We were desperate for a second opinion and hoped to find a good and kind Veterinary team. My cat and I had the best experience today and we will be taking our cats here for all of their needs. Thank you for your gentleness and kindness to my kitty. The staff and Veterinarian are professional, caring and affordable! They also fit me in immediately, which is unheard of! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

First time customer with 2 furry patients--- first impression was great. My cats were WAY more comfortable in their care, although my older cat was too anxious to be handled that day, Dr.Nelson realised this very early on and prescribed me medication for his upcoming visit (something I was oddly never offered at my old clinic). They didn't force my baby onto the table and further traumatize him. They took time with the animals and were very patient. I do hope that they go on to become fear free certified! They are only 2 years old! So go support them. I look forward to continuing business with them. If you guys use my name as a reference they will give me some business credit so please go check them out 🙏 🐾megan long

My daughter brought her cat Kora in today for her first visit and we both agreed Lighthouse Veterinary Care is the best place in the area. Dr. Nelson did a thorough an exam and explained our next steps. She answered all of our questions and we did not feel rushed one bit. Here you aren’t just a number. It is very evident once you walk through the front door your baby is in good hands. Tamyra was another staff member we interacted with. She was just as amazing as Dr. Nelson. I promise you will not be disappointed. Thank you!!

We have always received thoughtful, thorough examinations and explanations during our visits. They have such a peaceful atmosphere thanks to the decor and music. The staff are compassionate and the prices are reasonable. The bonus is that Lighthouse is exclusive to cats and the waiting room lacks the tension larger animals would bring.

One of our cats ended up needing to be seen pretty urgently and after calling around Lighthouse was actually recommended to us by another vet who couldn’t see her in time. I can’t say enough good things about this place, the care they gave our cat during her visits was extraordinary. The staff is incredibly friendly and Dr. Nelson is clearly an excellent doctor who’s passionate about what she does. If, God forbid, anything were to happen to any of our cats, I wouldn’t hesitate to call them first.
