How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Animal Medical Center

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Animal Medical Center is a pleasant veterinarian facility. The staff is always smiling, jovial, and pleasant. The veterinary doctors are very knowledgeable and always take the time to explain situations and listen. The added bonus is that the doctors and staff have great "bedside" manner. They actually care about the animals...unlike some other local vets not to be named.

We’ve been taking our animals to AMC & Bayside Vet for 20+ years. For the most part things have been okay with the exception of one vet telling me my dog needed to be tested for Cushings and she wants to take a fatty lump off of him and clean his teeth for $900. He has no signs of Cushings other than high liver enzymes but no other symptoms. This morning I got an email stating that we have missed 3 appointments in 3 years therefore they will charge $65 up front to make an appointment and $100 more if we don’t show up. What about the other 25 visits? Or when we were left in an exam room for an hour on a scheduled appointment and no one ever came in? We told them we were leaving and never saw a vet or even a tech. Or when they left us sitting in the car for 1 1/2 hours with my cat to get her expressed and they brought her back out within 5 minutes saying she was not being cooperative so they could not do it? We’ve been there several times in 6 months - 2 cats for check ups and vaccines and to see about my dogs bladder stones which twice they never showed us an X-ray - didn’t offer the rabies at any of those visits which is due now. And they have been calling to notify me that fecal samples are now due for both cats. Just picked up $280 of flea meds Friday and not one word about an appointment today, which is not on my calendar but all these other reminders I get, not one of them said my dog had appointment this morning . Only an email stating the penalty I will pay now. No worries there, because we will never go back. Lastly, we go to Center for Animal Healing and they clean teeth with no anesthesia for about $120, instead if $500.

This place is not a good vet. They couldn't fine out what was wrong with my dog who was in a fight for his life.Recomended that he see an animal communicator. That's after takings thousands from me. Told me if I couldn't get him there I could send a picture of him. He also had a lump on his tail and they were going to cut his tail off.Another vet just took the lump out. These vets are about the money BEWARE.Dr. Soles is the best vet there.

Everyone was so very compassionate. The vet was Superior and her assistant as well. I have gone to other veterinarians since I have lived here for four and a half years and no one no other veterinarian even touches the surface. So if you want a veterinarian go to this vet. Sonja

THE absolute BEST place to bring your pets. We've been going to them for many years. Reasonably priced. Caring and knowledgeable staff and they will do everything they can to fit you into the schedule if your visit is urgent. Highly recommend them to anyone.
