How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Springfield Animal Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

I’ve been going here since I first got my pup. I no longer live in the area, but continue to go here because of the care he gets every time. They are efficient, organized and very intentional with their treatments! They are also great with following up post treatment to check on the fur babies and see how they are doing. They also offer boarding which is just as great as the maintenance care. I started to name staff members individually, but I honestly have had great experiences with everyone!

BEWARE of this clinic! If you’re looking for a cheaper Veterinary clinic their prices maybe more affordable than others, HOWEVER you will receive poor care for your animals. My pet has been going their for 3 years for routine visits, but when it came down to quality care the male doctor lacked compassion and was very short with his answers with a sprinkle of unnecessary attitude. Prior to my appt the receptionist Mary was rude and tried to over charge us and didn’t take time to understand that a senior pet is not a SICK pet. On top of all this I find out they had my pets gender and age wrong. And it gets better, the male Veterinarian had no clue on my pet and didn’t even take the time to read through his chart to aid us in our questions and responded with “I’d have to look at his chart”. So you just walk into appointments not knowing the pet?! I’ve been a vet tech for 8 years and our experience was a nightmare. He got feed back from the experience I shared with his receptionist and instead of keeping it professional he walked in with an attitude and even rolled his eyes when I was asking routine questions regarding my pet. Then addressing the gender he wants to ask me if my pet is neutered because it says he’s not, well you’re the doctor and my pet is on your table, can’t you tell me if he’s neutered or not? His flamboyant behavior needs to be addressed or they’re gonna keep losing customers. I’ll pay whatever to ensure my pet is cared for, but I will not be charged incorrectly and fortunately it was corrected meaning that mistakes were made so that shows me that I need to find another and a mature one at that! They only care about making money!!!

I've nothing but positive endorsement for Springfield Animal Hospital. Maybe a little expensive, but the level of experience with their diagnosis and advice for treatment brings a great deal of comfort. I have 2 rescue Pit-mixes that are skiddish and twitchy, but the staff here handle them with great care and can clip their nails while I can't, lol.

I took my pet and this is what I had to deal with .the receptionist Mary seemed like she didn’t know what she was doing and very unprofessional and had an attitude, and the doctor wasn’t much better I'm paying him to provide services to my pet and instead he brushed me off, answered none of my questions. and acted like he didn’t care at all ,and he couldn’t be bothered. in my opinion you wanna go to a place that actually cares about your pet , and how much they mean to you, that’s why you’re taking them to a professional .but I guess to them it’s all about the money and that’s why I wouldn’t recommend taking your pet here . Find a better place that actually cares and takes the time to show it.

These folks are the best. My 9-year-old son’s hamster died and he wanted him cremated, so I called up Springfield Animal Hospital to ask if they could help. Not only did they take care of the little guy, they made the most beautiful paw print plaque. I just love how they put the hamster’s name on there along with the hearts - they put such thought and care into something that was incredibly meaningful for my kid. I’m so grateful.
