How to Save Money at UrgentVet
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.
Reviews from Google
The facility is nice and clean, and the staff is so sweet , kind, and understanding. Not to mention they work as quickly as they can to get your pet seen. My Chihuahua Bailey has been twice now, and each time has been pleasant. Though I will admit the first visit took hours, but the staff was completely swamped with patients that day. Prices are extremely reasonable for urgent care, and I appreciate that they let you know the price before any meds are administered. Definitely would recommend for any minor pet emergencies .

Everyone took excellent care of my cat Luna when she was in respiratory distress by immediately caring for her emergency and keeping me informed to what was going on with her and treatments that was needed. The staff is very kind, caring and took time in explaining every step of care. They even took time to call next day to check on Luna. I would highly recommend UrgentVet for emergency care for your pet. Thank you to everyone for being so wonderful!!!

The staff here is WONDERFUL!! My sweet boy Bagheera was so sick when I got home. Our vet’s office couldnt see him so they suggested UrgentVet. I was very leery of taken him somewhere new but we/he needed help fast. They took us right in and were able to do labs and diagnostic imaging to see his issues. The vet was very patient with me and helped me to understand my options and the consequences of each one. Unfortunately he was very sick and needed a lot of intensive care that wouldn't save him anyway. It would only prolong the inevitable. I made the tough decision to let him go in peace. They provide end of life care as well so we made that decision. They let us spend time with him in a very quiet comfortable room. We took turns holding and loving on him. I couldnt have ask for a better place for this heartbreaking thing to happen. The vet took her time and explained the process. She worked around us as we all gathered to hold him for the last time. After he passed they allowed us to take our time and say our goodbyes. They then arranged to have him sent to a pet crematory. I am not sure who they use but he was returned in a few days. This company also did a wonderful job of taking care of his ashes. They did his paw print and urgentvet gave us his fur in a beautiful little vial with an in scripted heart on it. He was returned in a beautiful craved wood container. Honestly it was better than a lot of human remains are returned. We were very pleased with this company. If your pet ever needs after hours care this is the place and god forbid if they need end of life care you cant find a more compassionate place than this. Thank you to all the staff for making this some what bearable. You will never understand how you touched our hearts that terrible night.

The minute we walked in the door, we were met promptly and my sweet cat was treated thoroughly and kindly. They explained everything to me and made a very scary situation much easier and more calm. They were quick to forward their records to our vet when requested, which helped our vet know what had happened over the weekend. I’d absolutely recommend them for your emergent needs with your fur babies, they were wonderful!

I brought my sweet Asher here, wrapped in a towel, urgently and I was met at someone by the door who quickly reached for him and took him to the back. Someone else came out to gather the information, as the medical team went quickly to work assessing him. Although my baby likely died in my arms before arriving, the entire team here was so caring and empathetic. Multiple people came out to hug me, offer me something to drink as well as their condolences, & told me I could take as long as I wanted with him before I needed to made any other decisions. Ultimately, I decided to allow them to cremate him. He was back within a week as they had promised. His ashes came in a beautiful box, they also gave me a clay paw print in another leather box in scripted with his name, and a small bottle with a tough of his hair in it. A week later, I received a card from them, signed by everyone, I had met that day offering sympathy. Although this clinic did not get to give him any care while he was alive, the kindness that they showed both to him and to myself upon his passing will not only make me think of them first for the rest of my cats care, but also recommend them highly to any family and friends in the area.
