How to Save on Veterinary Costs at West Chester Animal Hospital
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Dr Fonseca & Dr Perkins have been the most amazing humans to our family. Our Lizzie had been seeing them since she was 6 months old. Every moment we were there or on the phone, both us and our dog knew we were going to be extremely well taken care of. A few weeks ago we had to say our see you laters to Lizzie, and not only was the entire process the least stressful that it could’ve been, but these wonderful people took the time to make sure Lizzie got one last pup cup, and gave us the most beautiful paw print with her ashes today. Additionally, we received the sweetest sympathy card. Through thick and thin, this place genuinely has you & your animals’ backs. I cannot recommend them enough. Thank you to everyone at WC Animal Hospital for loving and caring for our Lizzie as much as we do. I know she would thank you a million times if she were able to do so! We look forward to sharing our new pup with you and hopefully being less frequent flyers (although every visit is SO appreciated by us)! With love, The Plaisted family

We have brought our 10-year-old maltese to West Chester Animal Hospital since 2018 and have never been left disappointed. Dr. Rundell is fantastic and always provides excellent service. She is very knowledgeable and explains everything in a very understandable way. West Chester Animal Hospital is definitely a place you take your pet to for their whole lives!

Dr Perkins and Dr Fonseca are such amazing and compassionate people. We have been going there since 2012 and are so grateful for the care they showed to both our dog Sammy and myself to calm me down when I was worried. They were there the past month to help us get through the last month of his life and spent hours on the phone and in the office answering questions and concerns. They are just amazing!!! Thank you to all of the staff that showed so much compassion to us during the hardest time of our lives.

I have taken my cats and dog to Dr. Perkins since she began her practice. She is an outstanding veterinarian and her entire staff is responsive, friendly and caring. Dr. Perkins' diagnoses are invariably accurate. She is attentive to possible medical conditions without "over-treating." She has also provided many practical tips to transition me to dog ownership. Her sense of humor is delightful. I feel confident in boarding my pets at this facility, knowing that their individual preferences are met and that they are staying with conscientious and caring individuals.
