Had a weekend emergency with one of our pups. They scheduled an emergency visit. The staff and veterinarian were professional, kind, and helpful. I'm sure every weekend the emergency slots fill up quickly, we called early on a Sunday and were given one of the last afternoon spots. It is really nice to have an appointment vs waiting hours in a waiting room. My pup needed a muzzle for her ear puncture...they allowed me to muzzle which I believe was the best option. They took great care of us and we found the expert care was reasonably priced.

My cat was brought in for ear infection symptoms and I feel like we were completely taken advantage of in the amount of $720! Unnecessary tests were done rather waiting for ear swab results. I was absolutely sick when I was told how much the visit would be. We won’t be back.

We've taken out cat, Sadie (16 yrs) there for all her shots. Unfortunately she had tests done and they showed she had diabetes and chronic kidney disease. The doctors, technician and everybody there was so kind and helpful in making our decision. The place is very clean and all the rooms have windows for a peaceful surrounding. We highly recommend VCA Castle Shannon Animal hospital.

I first went to VCA years ago with my dogs. At the time my parents were making the choices where to go. Last night about 8:00pm my wife found our hamster unresponsive but breathing. We got him out of the cage and he attempted to open his eyes for us. He barely moved and he had been with us over 2 years. We called VCA right at 8:00p when they are closing. We ask if they can help us put him down safely and humanely. After a short back and fourth they agree to allow us to come right away to help make our little guy at peace. I can’t say enough positive about our experience with them last night. The staff was incredibly sympathetic and caring. The doctor and the vet tech came out to our vehicle to let us take our little guy home to be buried in our pet cemetery. Thank you VCA.

We lost our dog very suddenly last night. She was fine in the morning and by dinner she was acting very strange. We just knew something was very wrong and had to rush her late to the vet. My husband rushed her in and though she went very quickly the staff did everything they could to make it comfortable for her and us. They offered testing and to try to keep her alive but we knew she was already gone. They were very delicate with my husband and let him have a moment to cry and some of the staff even cried with him. They offered us several options and asked every step of the way what we wanted to do. At the end of the evening they gave my husband our sweet girl's paw print and some angel pins for our kids. This is not easy but the staff did a great job of making it easier. We are going to miss our girl so much.
