How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Peninsula Pet Clinic
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Breed Specific Health Considerations
Some breeds may be more prone to certain health conditions. Early awareness can help with prevention and early treatment.

Peninsula Pet has been our family vet clinic for nearly 15 years, through cat end-of-life care to bringing home new kittens and puppies. We’ve consistently received compassionate, professional care from the veterinarians and staff, with fair and transparent pricing. We just adopted a new farm kitten for Christmas and our purebred dog is scheduled for his neutering in a few weeks. We trust Peninsula Pet with all seasons and events for our family’s pets.(Photo of boxer puppy desperately wanting to make friends with the new kitten.)

Everyone is great here! Our dog Ernie LOVES coming in to see Peninsula folks. They are kind, knowledgeable and go above & beyond. In past I've stopped in w/ o an appt to discuss pet meds & they filled prescription right then/there, no other appt needed. Also when dog had minor injury we were concerned about but wasn't emergency, they got us appt less than 48 hours later. Truly great place.

Peninsula Dog and Cat clinic is an exceptional Veterinary Clinic. The location is easy to get to, and the clinic itself is very clean and comfortable. The Veterinarians and staff are professional, compassionate, bright , thorough and kind. I have taken my dogs to Dr. DeRemer for many years and trust him and all of the staff completely. Over these years they have taken care of 5 dogs with us. My husband, dogs and I feel we are in the best of hands. The tail wags are a good indication of our pups’ approval!

They got my cat Frank in quickly, Dr and staff treated him well! They all clearly like animals and have good people skills as well, explaining likely causes and solutions. Frank had an infection between 2 back toes and they gave him antibiotics and sent me home with an antimicrobial soak. They always give an estimate 1st and give options if they have them. I think I am on cats 4 and 5 with Peninsula Vet and they're great!

Our cat Murphy had his first visit with Peninsula Pet Clinic this week. The entire experience was wonderful. I emailed with questions before making the appointment, and the response was thorough and timely. All of my questions were answered and then some. At the appointment the front desk staff, assistant and Dr. were all friendly and knowledgeable. And, best of all, Murphy was calm and comfortable. He has found a new “home” for his medical needs. Thanks!!!
