How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Bedford Stuyvesant Veterinary Clinic
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

I was very nervous about leaving my pet with this vet clinic due to obvious reasons because there new too me and I've had the worst luck in previous places. My pet is also a pitbull and naturally I worry of how she's going to be treated. On her first stay, everything went well. Of course my pet had patches of hair missing in some areas but if you know your pet, animals do get anxiety as well. But she still healthy and because she's a senior dog, she looked like she was treated well. She's staying again son and I do feel confident that she will be treated like the little old lady she is.

Stay away!!! This place is much more interested in up charging you for pointless tests than it is in actually treating and caring for your animals I took my dog in a year ago after he was experiencing weight loss, lethargy, and a constantly upset stomach. After running over $700 of tests, I was told that he was fine, but maybe had a parasitic infection we could treat with OTC meds. Less than one week later, my dog died and the ER vet who put him down said that it was very obviously stomach cancer and that any reasonable vet would have seen that. Turns out, the X-rays that Dr Pru ran did not include the dye necessary to make the cancer visible. Making it a complete waste of money and time. Please go somewhere / anywhere else if you’d like to keep your dogs alive.

The staff are kind enough but they will obfuscate and lie if you ask them for information. If you're trying to move a pet overseas, GO ELSEWHERE. Our RNATT test was booked with a USDA accredited vet, and I was told that the vet I was given (a different person) was fine. It was not fine. Our RNATT test was rejected and our cat is now stuck in the US for longer while we go elsewhere to get bloods redrawn. 3 month's delay all because they lied on multiple occasions and hid the truth from us and our pet moving company. Do you want a vet that's known to lie and hide critical information to treat your pet?

Brought my cat here for the first time and we had a great experience. The staff were super friendly and the overall visit didn't take too long. My cat was super calm and didn't react even though he's known to be a terror at the vet. Will definitely be bringing my little guy back
