Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Brought our cat here for emergency services, they told us to put him down and gave him no care. Brought him to our vet the next day, put on antibiotics and sub q fluids. Here’s a picture of him on the fluids getting better and a picture of our healthy boy today. I would not know what to describe this place as besides pure evil.

The dr and assistants were so amazing. When you come in the a pet that has experienced a trauma, you don’t expect the person at the front desk to be so rude. I also run a business and know the people at the front are the face of the business. We witnessed a lady that had a horrible loss and this girl showed zero emotion. Human kindness goes a long way.

Our daughter called in panic because her dog couldn't walk and seemed to be completely out of it. He appeared to be getting worse so we took him to VCA. She suspected litte Eddy had swallowed one of her several prescription meds but wasn't sure which one. After an exam Dr Kennedy suspected he ingested something completely different and much less costly. We left VCA about an hour after arriving with Eddy and money left in our checking account. Dr Kennedy was absolutely wonderful. She even called the next day to check on Eddy and we gave her the good news he was back to his old self.

The techs and doctors here are incredible. Although they have longer wait times, they are efficient with visits. They truly cared about our sweet boy in the final days. Outlooks and prognoses were always delivered with care and compassion. We unfortunately had to say goodbye, but I know that Dr. Donaldson and the rest of the neurology team did all they could to save our boy.

We said goodbye to a beloved part of our family yesterday. It was heart-wrenching to decide the time had come to say goodbye to our Riley. He started rapidly declining on Saturday. We made a plan to take him to our family vet early on Monday to put him to rest but his suffering was too great and we chose to take him to VCA Midwest on Sunday evening. Facing taking him to an unknown place with unknown staff was tough but we couldn’t have asked for better! The staff was lovely and the doctor was companionate. They gave us as much private time as we needed with him prior to saying goodbye. The facility was clean and the room we were in was comfortable for us all. The procedure went smoothly and Riley went peacefully to sleep. They then gave us privacy until we were ready to let him go. Please know if you are faced with this difficult decision, VCA Midwest will treat you and your pet with kindness and support.
