How to Save on Veterinary Costs at VCA 80 Dodge Animal Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

We just rescued a new family member last night and ended up with a dog emergency. Neither of my boyfriend or I have ever had to deal with emergent animal hospitals but this one was amazing. They even stayed open late to assist us. All members of the team ( Dr Batenhorst, Natalie, and Addison I wrote them all down since they were amazing) helped us begin the necessary care for this new furry friend while being patient with all of our questions and concerns. Amazing people!

We unfortunately had to put our beloved dog, Tod, down and it came up suddenly over the weekend. I was/am a mess and the way we were treated by VCA made this terrible situation as okay as it could be… they treated my Tod with care and dignity and gave us as much time as we needed to say our final goodbyes. I would definitely recommend them. They were very empathetic.

9/24/23 Update They are still one of the better clinics. A couple times where they seemed overwhelmed with clients, it happens. Costs are reasonable, and the staff very personable and warm. So updating my review to 5 stars. Prior-- As of late, been having a wait here..like even an hour or more?? So I'm disappointed. Having said that, they still provide pretty good service. I'm hoping in the future will be more on schedule.

My ragdoll Roxy had a very swollen right ear. I called at 1 pm and she was seen by 2:30. They were great with Roxy, addressed all of my concerns. I can't express how grateful I am that they could see Roxy on a Sunday afternoon. All of the staff were great. Thank you!!
