How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Northwest Animal Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

My senior dog’s health was failing and I had to get him to the vet. My primary vet was not available and so I called Northwest. They allowed me to drop my dog off for evaluation between their scheduled appointments. After testing, the outcome was not good for my dog and the vet was extremely thorough with details and options. She gave me all the time I needed to think about my decision and I decided on putting my pup down. I want to commend this office for going above and beyond for my dogs vet emergencies time and time again and they have always been more than accommodating and professional. The staff were all very kind to me and I am glad that my dogs last day was one of some level of comfort and ease. I would recommend this office to anyone. Thank you so much.

This place truly cares about your pup! They were able to get my dog in quickly and had all they needed to help him that day. They even texted me over the weekend following up about how he was doing and answering any questions I had. Highly recommend!!

Dr. Houts is absolutely wonderful! We've used Northwest Animal hospital for many years. They are kind and compassionate, fairly priced and even great with those last minute emergencies with our fur babies.

These people are amazing! They have been my vet for 13 years. The compassion and true love for your pet is amazing. The doc diagnosed my gorl with a disease not normally found in her breed and put her on the right track. The staff is super sensitive to the needs of the family when its time for the pet to cross the rainbow bridge also. I have moved twoce and still drive across town for them!

Wonderful staff, ability to communicate with the practice by text, and they have taken care of all my kitties over over 15 years now. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
