How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Scotts Hill Animal Hospital
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Dr Lackey is amazing, been going to her since I was little with all of my parents dogs and now take my own. Couldn't imagine going to any other vet and getting the same quality care and service, plus she and her staff are extra sweet to the animals so my dog actually likes the vet. Cannot recommend SHAH enough, wish there were six stars

The best...I have taken pets from goats to cats for over 30 years to Dr lackey. You may have a bit of a wait but she is the greatest in diagnosing and getting to the cause of the problem and getting your furry family member well. Will take the time to get to the problem during your appointment. She and her caring staff are truly the best.

We have never been so appalled with a vet. If we could give less than one star we would. I very rarely leave reviews but I have to warn people for the safety of their pet. Dr. Cole was entirely unprofessional the entire visit. It started with her trying to give our dog a shot with the syringe full of air. She said it’s okay to inject air into a dog. My wife made her get rid of the air fortunately. She goes and squirts the air out right there. My wife is a nurse and just couldn’t believe her eyes. Later she tells us our dog has round worms so we were charged for medication. No big deal right, yet once we get home we see on the document they gave us all the tests came back negative. So we paid for and medicated our dog for no reason. Ever since we got home our poor puppy has been crying in pain anytime we touch her. We’ve never had such a poor experience. My wife was talked down to the entire time as well. The staff was super unfriendly and I’m honestly shocked by how bad this place operates. Please beware of this place, I’d recommend staying away at all cost.

I want to say a huge thank you to Scotts Hill animal hospital for their compassion & caring when we had to put our sweet fur baby to sleep. They gave our family all the time we needed to grieve with our baby instead of rushing us out. I would highly recommend them for anyone needing a vet & will be taking our other fur babies for all their vet needs.
