How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Southern Pines Equine Associates

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Am very disappointed with this place. Had a horse get sick all of a sudden and called it was after closing time by about 30 minutes . Took about two hours for them to get here . Horse was already dead when they arrived but vet said he had to give a shot to make sure . Got the bill today $60 for one vet to call the other to come out $3.85 per mile travel expenses $200 for shot into a dead horse and $140 for the vet services. I would not recommend this practice to anyone anymore. I recommend this vet to a friend to have there donkey fixed from Jack to muttered and they quoted one price for doing it but when they got the bill it was over $100 more. I guess the way they are doing people they must be losing customers so they have to rip Off the ones that do call them. Beware they cannot be taken at there word. I would not use them again

Great Veterinarian. Dr. Tom is the best. Always available for ranch calls and to answer questions. He took the extra time to show my daughter how to administer basis shots for her horse. He also took the time to explain to how what he was looking in words that we understood. I great to know we have such a great Veterinarian working for us. Thanks

The most beneficial aspect is their expert advice on cost-effective practices while prioritizing the health of my equine partners.

Dr. Tom Daniel's and Jane took amazing care of our mule "Festus". Did not rush around and make him nervous. The gals in the office were friendly and efficient.
