How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Powers Veterinary Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

We called this Vet for 2 reasons:great reviews and close to our home. Fortunately, the office had 1 opening. Dr.Powers and the staff were amazing. Very polite, caring and professional. Dr.Powers diagnosed our dog’s issue, prescribed meds. Amazingly, we did not think was overly expensive as most vets are in our area. Lovely place and highly recommended. PS our 15 YO dog is well on his way to getting better.

Being a first time pet owner, I had a million and one questions once I rescued a 4month old black lab. I took her to Powers Vet from the beginning and not only did they answer all of my questions with amazing service, they also made everything easy on my puppers as well. Fast forward 4-5 months, they continue to love and care for Korra and give her the best care every single time!

Caring vet office. I would highly recommend to anyone in search of quality care. They took great care of my cat who had an infection from an abscess. I’ll definitely be going back for regular check ups!

Powers veterinary hospital has been the location we've used for our annual checkup multiple times. Everyone's favorite princess Zelda went from 12.5 lbs to 9lbs. Dr. Powers identified bladder stones after a few tests. She quickly got her schedule in for surgery the next day. Here we are three weeks later, and Zelda has healed amazingly. She's back to playing at full speed, and eating normally. Thanks to Dr. Powers for saving our best friend!

I can't leave a 1 star because the staff here is very friendly including the nurse however I can't say that for Dr. Powers. I felt she was a little full of herself and egocentric. I asked a few questions regarding risks associated with a condition my pet Max has and her body language, tone of voice and responses completely changed. I feel as though she thought I was questioning her expertise meanwhile I was only asking for her professional opinion. Her response was sarcastic about the amount of procedures she has performed. The thing that turned me off the most was her lack of gratitude. After me thanking her for taking a look at my pet she just walked out and told me the nurse will give you the rest of the information I need to make my payment. No thank you, no smile, she just walked out. Didn't even say good bye to my pet. It felt cold. I feel this is typical with some doctors who are very full of themselves. After being charged hundreds of dollars for things my pet Max didn't need after I came to find out, I made the decision to not return here.
