How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Town & Country Veterinary Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Dr. Merriman is wonderful. He takes time to make sure I understand Mabel's needs and medication options. He doesn't rush to add new medications or up her dosage. I feel very supported and know they want her to have a happy and healthy life regardless of her special needs.

My husband and I lost a puppy one year ago to a tragic accident. Recently, we purchased a new puppy and are, once again, back in the care of Town & Country. The staff has been wonderful in making us feel welcomed and supported. They continue to provide excellent care and service and always inspire our confidence and trust. We're delighted!

A few years ago we moved to Apex. I took our dog to several veterinary hospitals to get a feel for each practice. When I found Town and Country, I realized that my search was over. The staff is friendly and efficient. The veterinarians are highly trained professionals. I always feel confident that our dog is in good hands when I take him there. They truly care about their animal patients. They did a follow-up call this morning to make sure that our dog was feeling better.

Doctor Ally James Has proven herself to be very knowledgeable and helpful everytime i've seen her. One of our dogs has a thyroid condition and she has been excellent in treating this disease state. She helped us titrate the medication and followed up until Murphy's medicine was at just the right dose.

Have been taking my cat here for a few years now and to say I am disappointed is an understatement. Never have I waited less than 45 minutes to see the vet and this last time I tried a new vet thinking that maybe the wait time would be less. When I booked the apt, I asked the receptionist what date and time would be the least amount of wait time, and she told me which one to book. After waiting 50 minutes for the doctor, I told the receptionist that I had to leave. As I was walking out to leave, the doctor walked out to the lobby and told me that she can now see my cat. I have no complaints about the doctor. She did a fine job but after waiting 50 minutes to see the doctor who was with my cat for less than 10, I felt like they had no respect for my time. I would not recommend this practice unless you have ample amount of time to sit and wait just to see a doctor for 10 minutes. Felt like a waste of money and a waste of time.
