How to Save on Veterinary Costs at MD SPCA Spay & Neuter Clinic
Preventive care
Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.
Compare prescription pricing
Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.
Consider pet insurance
Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Your experience may be different than mine, but our boy snoopy was put through it, and we had to get him before he was even all the way out of the effects of the anesthesia , his incision was bleeding, we had to carry him to the car and he's wasn't a small boy, he's even bigger now but he got sick seemed like he had a fever. We tried to ask them should we bring him back up because we think somethings wrong but they said no he'll be ok and he was a few days later.. but still he was pretty messed up and he has cerebellar hypoplasia and bad anxiety , they did try to give him something to help calm him down and they did ask someone who came in after us to step out for a minute until they got him back because he was so scared but when we came to get him that's when the horror story started. The staff were really nice, at least all that we met. He just had a chop shop surgery and then thrown out the door before he was even a little bit ok. But all in all he is good today YEARS later but it was just a rough (no pun intended) experience. Hopefully it's gotten better now and it was just a once in a million bad situation. I'm just glad he made it through and is still with us today.
