How to Save on Veterinary Costs at VetCare

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Experience

Ask whether the clinic has experience treating your specific type of pet, since care can vary between dogs, cats, and pocket pets.

Emergency Care Procedures

It’s helpful to understand how the clinic handles after-hours emergencies, including whether they provide emergency services or refer to nearby emergency hospitals.

Communication Preferences

Ask how the clinic communicates with pet parents, including updates, test results, and follow up questions.

Breed Specific Health Considerations

Some breeds may be more prone to certain health conditions. Early awareness can help with prevention and early treatment.

I will not be returning to VetCare. My dog been going to this vet since 2016. Christine Davey, DVM was very disrespectful & unprofessional today. She came out to the lobby, loud as ever telling me how malnutrition my dog is & remained rude & very harsh throughout the conversation. People was just looking like wow. She could haven easily pulled me in the hallway to see if there was any changes in his diet so forth, my dog is a small breed, the biggest he been in his life is 8.2 lbs & I was always told that his weight was normal for his breed.I took him to get his annual shots so Im thinking something came back abnormal. She was so loud & rude in front of a room full of people. after all, this is a loved one & who wants their dog's health blurted out, whether good or bad. THERE IS NO PRIVACY in this office & that alone, is very UNPROFESSIONAL. I didn't want to give it 1 star but had no choice.

I brought in a feral cat that wouldn't leave my yard. He was beat up with open soars all over his body. I had him neutered and given all his shots. They did a great job and cleaned him all up. They were very good with him. Grateful

Was not expecting someone to be treated the way I was. I have taken a product back with a receipt for the return, which i paid with my debit card, instead of putting it back in my account. He pocket the money. How sad to treat peoples. I will drive to West Monroe or elsewhere now.

Staff are great. They might not remember me, but they remember my dog and that's more important. Staff are great and my puppy has had as positive of an experience as she can, when getting her shots. They are also open for clinic on the weekend which is great.
