How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Happy Tails Animal Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Getting to Know Your Veterinarian

Experience

Ask whether the clinic has experience treating your specific type of pet, since care can vary between dogs, cats, and pocket pets.

Emergency Care Procedures

Happy Tails is an amazing animal hospital and I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Mareddy and her staff. One of our dogs is elderly and has an autoimmune disease, and I was beyond nervous to have his teeth cleaned and for extractions to be done. Dr. Mareddy did an incredible job and made sure to monitor him the entire time (and Amber in her office sent text messages the whole time keeping us updated). Dr. Mareddy takes the time both in person and on the phone to make sure you understand everything thoroughly. She has a very personal hands on approach and both our dogs love her. Highly recommend! Happy tails also has great grooming services.

When I brought my puppy Bella to Happy Tails Vet she was not feeling well and not in great health. Now my fur baby is thriving. She’s Happy, Active and Healthy. Thank you Happy Tails Vet.

My Laberdoodle ate the legs and thighs (bone and all) so, we came to happy tails to have her checked out. Vet took xrays. Her Tommy was full! (OF chicken). Vet recommended inducing vomit (KNOWING SHE WAS TOO FULL TO EXPELL ANYTHING). OF COURSE she could not regurgitate. Vet recommended surgery!! (AFTER CHARGING $495 FOR A PROCEEDURE SHE KNEW LIKELY WOULD NOT WORK). Vet played on our concern telling us perforation from chicken bones could produce major problems for our dog. $2,000 for the surgery noting the emergency Vet clinic down the street would charge $10,000 for the procedure. WE DID NOT BITE! Took her to our Vet of 20 years who said,"Thus is not a surgical issue. This breed naturally feeds on chicken bone and all with o ly diarrhea to deal with afterwords. My Happy Tail will NEVER go back to Happy Tails Pet Spa. Winner winner $500 chicken dinner!!! 🤔

Artimis isn’t doing well. I don’t think this place genuinely cares about animals. I bought my dog in for emergency visit and they knew he was in pain with something going on in his mouth but I didn’t have enough money for nothing but emergency care so they sent me out because the emergency care didn’t cover, what he needed to be fully diagnosed and treated. So basically, they took my money for the emergency visit and told me we don’t really know what’s wrong with him because the emergency visit cost doesn’t cover this. What was the purpose of the emergency visit? wouldn’t recommend this place to anybody money driven

Happy tails is a great place for your fur Baby. The entire staff including Dr Prasad and Dr Hema are extremely helpful. they are alway there when needed, and available on demand to help during emergencies. As a first time pet owner we wanted someone whom we can lean on for suggestions, advice and guidance and we feel we have found a right place for our Islay at happy place. We feel happy tails is a happy place for our golden puppy and for us. They genuinely care for your babies and are very knowledgeable and experienced. We have found out vets for life at happy tails.
