How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Vetco Total Care Animal Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Do not get Vital Care Premier! It's a rip off...$20-$25 a month and not worth it at all. They will make you pay and then switch out the benefits every year (less benefits every year since I joined in 2021.) I've been a customer of them for a very long time and purchased over $200 of dog food from them every single month, but they lowered the benefits of the Vital Care Premier memebership again this year and said they sent out an email (which I did not receive and approve of the new changes.) Had I known, I would've cancelled my membership, but now they won't let me cancel. You don't actually get 10% off on their food anymore (because the rule is that you can't get it, if the food is already on sale, which always is.) It used to be that they gave you free vet visits ($70 price,) but now it's just $30 off and you only get it a few times. I tried calling to cancel since the membership is not worth it anymore and they refused to cancel it so now I'm stuck paying that fee every month for a whole year. They can take my $25 a month for the next 12 months but I will no longer be buying $200/ month of dog food anymore. I will take my business elsewhere.

Have had multiple appointments canceled due to confirmation issues. When you call you get sent to a call center in india. Also have had issues with the appointments being canceled after being confirmed. I am also wondering if the last time my dog went in to get an allergy shot, if they actually give it to him as he had no relief what so ever. Have tried several times to go to this location and i give up. I also had an appointment today that was canceled due to an error on their part. They then called me after 2 hours later and said that they could’ve seen me? I will be looking for another vet.

$900 for xrays and exam??!!! Who thought this is affordable??! And my cat died without me because their hospital policy does not allow for owner to be with the pet while getting a catheter! The stress killed him before they could get it inserted! Never again will I go here. Cruel and price gaugers.
