How to Save Money at Lbc Vets Primary and Urgent Care
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I recently took my sweet cat who turns into Mr. Hyde at the vet to LBC Vets for emergency treatment for a urinary tract infection--a vicious one. I was referred to them by his regular vet when they were too booked to see him--in fact, two people at his veterinary clinic separately told me to take him there. I'd never been in LBC Vets, and I generally am a bit wary and apprehensive when I go to a new medical caregiver. Not here. As soon as I walked in, the brightness, the kindness of the staff, the comfort and the friendliness of the other clients immediately put me at ease. The vets were patient with my cat, who'd taken on the character of a berserk demon spawn. I wound up doing medical boarding there because I was leaving for vacation and I wanted him to get care. I also didn't want my bestie, who was cat-sitting, to be stuck with giving meds and maybe getting him back to the vet and peeing in the car (the cat, not my friend). Well, the vets did fine, especially Dr. Kessler. So did the cat--after two different types of antibiotisc, he's behind me, snoring on the futon, as I keyboard. I've finally found a sweet spot for emergency care, and my bestie, who's been looking for a vet since our former vet retired, will bring his here--he was impressed, too, and it takes a lot to please him. Oh yes, they also do regular vet care.

Dr. Kessler and all the staff at lbc vets are incredible, kind, and caring. When our little cat family member Mochi became ill with heart failure suddenly the LBC vets team went above and beyond through multiple check ups and emergency visits. While we had to say goodbye to our fur son recently, the team was empathetic, didn't rush us, and allowed us to say our farewells. Can't thank the vet techs, staff, and Dr. Kessler enough for the tremendous care they provided to our family during a difficult time. Thank you LBC vets!

I recently took my cat to LBC Vets and had an amazing experience from start to finish. The staff was so friendly, caring, and professional. They made sure my cat felt comfortable and explained everything to me clearly. You can tell they truly love animals and go above and beyond for their patients. I left feeling confident my cat was in the best hands. Highly recommend LBC Vets to any pet owner looking for top-notch care!

The staff was welcoming and kind , the vet tech and vet were knowledgeable and took their time. There was an emergency so the visit took a little longer than expected, but the staff came in to check on us and let us know what was going on. We didn’t mind, we were just there for a check up and vaccines, we’re just happy they were so kind and kept us informed!

Love this vet! It started off with being greated by the kindest staff named Veronica who helped me and my anxious dog Bolt. She was very calm and made accommodations to help my dog feel more comfortable as he is very anxious. I was then helped by Dr. Munoz who was amazing as well. She sat there and really listened to me and all my concerns about my dog *which were a ton*. She listened and responded to every question so patiently. I couldn’t thank this vet enough for helping me and my pup! This place is definitely worth every penny to be able to help my pups! :)
