How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Pet Vet Animal Hospital

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Letter I sent to Pet Vet Dear Pet Vet, I am writing to express my deep frustration and disappointment with the recent experience I had at your veterinary hospital. I find it necessary to bring to your attention the series of issues I encountered during my attempts to obtain my pet's medical records, which has ultimately led me to question the professionalism and ethics of your establishment. On Monday, 9/11, I reached out to your hospital to request my pet's medical records. This should have been a straightforward and routine process. However, it turned into an incredibly frustrating ordeal. I had to call your hospital a total of six times over the course three days, repeatedly requesting the release of these records. Each time I called, I was assured that the records would be sent to me promptly. Regrettably, these assurances were not fulfilled, and I was left without the crucial medical information I needed for my pet's ongoing care. This level of incompetence and lack of follow-through on basic client requests is unacceptable for any professional establishment, especially one entrusted with the health and well-being of our beloved animals. After waiting for 72 hours and still not receiving the records, I felt compelled to confront your staff about what I perceived as a refusal to release my pet's records. During this interaction, I was met with an inappropriate response from your receptionist. Instead of addressing my concerns professionally, the receptionist accused me of being rude and even suggested that I had threatened them. Let me be clear that my intention was never to be rude or threatening. I was simply frustrated by the lack of responsiveness and professionalism I had encountered throughout this process. My mention of reporting the situation to the Veterinary Board was a reflection of my growing concern about the handling of my request, not a threat. Upon reflection, I believe it is crucial for your establishment to take this matter seriously. I implore you to take immediate steps to address this issue by ensuring that my pet's medical records are sent to me promptly. Additionally, it is essential to reevaluate the professionalism and customer service standards upheld by your staff. Furthermore, as I mentioned earlier, I have observed concerning reviews of your hospital online, which suggest that my experience may not be an isolated incident. I urge you to take these reviews into consideration and take proactive measures to improve your hospital's overall reputation and client satisfaction. I genuinely hope that you will use this feedback as an opportunity for growth and improvement. As pet owners, we entrust our animals' lives and well-being to your care, and it is essential that you uphold the highest standards of professionalism and competence. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to a resolution that reflects a commitment to better service and transparency. Sincerely, MEG

I would never take my beloved pets here. My pet underwent a surgery I did not authorize and the doctor didn't even call me the day of surgery to go over details. The providers yell at not only the customers, but also their staff in front of people. Very unprofessional. I would read their yelp reviews that will all say the same. They are overpriced and lack professionalism. Stay away if you care about your pets.

updating my review two years later: Dr Lital Kirazenbaum is the best vet my animals have been to. I have two cats and two dogs, and from general check ups and vaccines to ear infections, chipped teeth, and broken paws, Pet Vet Animal Hospital and Dr. K have been amazing. She very clearly loves the animals she's working with, and she is easy to talk to. I look forward to seeing her when I bring my pets in, because I have no doubt whatever the issue is, she'll figure out how to handle it, and because I enjoy talking to her person to person. Dr. K herself is fantastic, and the staff she surrounds herself with are great with animals and people alike. I am lucky that none of my animals hate going to vet, but I swear they seem to enjoy it, because of the affection they receive, and how good everyone is with animals. Owning a pet is expensive, but Dr. K and her vet techs will outline both the ideal treatment options, as well as the bare minimum, based on your budget. They are honest and forthright about what choosing different options will entail, and I have never felt pressured to do a million tests. But I also feel like they suggest treatments and diagnostics that make the most sense. I recommend Pet Vet to my friends with pets, and now I'm recommending it on the internet. I legit look forward to taking my pets in for their annual check ups, because they love it there, and I enjoy catching up with the people who work there. Especially Dr K. She's a gem. She knows what she's doing, she has a huge heart, and she's great to talk to, about my paints and just general chit chat. =================================== old review: I trust them with my pets, and my pets love going (which is odd, but whatever). The people there are compassionate and truly love animals.

We have been asking for our cat’s records for weeks and have had no luck (by law that have to be provided within 5 days of request). Office staff is disorganized and has even misplaced our cat’s X-rays into a different pet’s file. Office is also dingy, unclean, and front desk is a mess. Our cat had started to vomit with the treatment provided by the vet, who advised us to call if that were to happen, and it took them 3 days to call us back. We have tried to update contact information for our pet and still that information has not been updated. Do not come here if you care for your pet!! Do not purchase anything from here either as they are price gouging.

Looks like I am going to be echoing what a lot of reviews are already saying. This place used to be absolutely amazing. Then Doc Brown retired and it has completely lost its soul. They overbill. Add on extra unnecessary charges, tests, etc. Overall, they take advantage of stressed, concerned pet owners. The staff are friendly enough and that is about the only nice thing I can say. Do not take your pets here.
