How to Save on Veterinary Costs at Golf Links Animal Clinic

Preventive care

Routine wellness exams can help identify health issues early, often before they become more serious or expensive to treat. Regular checkups are one of the most effective ways to manage long term veterinary costs.

Compare prescription pricing

Some pet medications prescribed at veterinary clinics may also be available through local or online pharmacies. It can be helpful to compare pricing when appropriate to reduce ongoing medication costs.

Consider pet insurance

Pet insurance may help cover a portion of eligible veterinary expenses depending on the plan, including accidents, illnesses, and in some cases preventive care. Coverage details, reimbursement levels, and deductibles vary by provider.

Experience

Ask whether the clinic has experience treating your specific type of pet, since care can vary between dogs, cats, and pocket pets.

Emergency Care Procedures

It’s helpful to understand how the clinic handles after-hours emergencies, including whether they provide emergency services or refer to nearby emergency hospitals.

Communication Preferences

Everyone here is so kind and helpful. There is always someone to greet you when you first walk in. Their interactions with my cat have made it clear that they genuinely care about their patients. When I had to bring my cat to urgent care, they gave me a call a week later just to see how she was doing. I’ve called multiple times with questions, and they have always been happy to answer my questions. That has been so helpful as a first-time cat owner. As a broke college student, I’ve found their prices to be reasonable. If you need a vet, I recommend giving them a try!

They were really good with my dog. She is a typical bully pit easily excited and thinks everyone is her play toy and they handled her perfectly. She had a good time all while they manipulated her body for the exams.

One hour late getting us in to an exam room and our second pet (who also had an appointment) never even got seen. They were so busy but I guess that's the way things are now. But well worth the wait once we were seen by Dr. Lori. Doc and tech were very caring and comforting to our baby girl, Etta. Hoping for a good outcome.

I took my 8 year old male German Shepherd here for urination problems. We saw Dr. Ortiz. She was great and very patient explaining things to me. Price was $54.50 for his exam and around $45 for sending his urine off. I have been searching for a vet to call "home" I think I found it!
