I've wanted to give this a couple days to pass because emotions since Bernie's passing have been pretty raw for us and I wanted to write this with a clear head. I've been a loyal customer with Franklin Animal Clinic for decades. I enjoy the vets, I've had minimal problems, and care was mostly on-par with expectations. When Bernie was in the midst of failing this week, a call was made to alert them that Bernie was on his way, was in severe pain, unable to walk, difficulty breathing, really struggling, and we needed to see someone immediately. We had an arrival time of 12:40 pm however, we were told that they were "closed for lunch until 1:00 pm" and even worse, they couldn't see him until 1:40. Now, I don't know about you but what has happened to compassion and sensitivity in this world? You have a dying dog in your parking lot and the response is "Wait until our lunch is over?" Bernie died in the back of my vehicle in their parking lot that day. He never made it in to see a vet for either a diagnosis or to be humanly euthanized. I'm a huge advocate of promoting local business but for this to happen, I'm disheartened. I'm going to turn commenting off on this post because this is strictly for informational purposes. I wanted to put this out there for you to form your own opinion on this facility based on this experience. Our pets are so important to us and to know that my Bernie died in the parking lot waiting for a vet is unacceptable. I'm heartbroken it ended like this but, at minimum, I'm glad Bernie was surrounded by his family, getting belly scratches as he took his last breath.

This is hands down the most organized, well ran veterinary clinic I have ever been to. The veterinarian and staff are extremely knowledgeable, helpful, understanding, and most of all caring. My labrador had ACL and meniscus surgery here and it went great. I would recommend Franklin animal clinic to every pet owner. They are there to help you and your pets. They are reasonably priced and just the best service I’ve ever had. Gunner says thanks for fixing me!

I will NEVER EVER take another dog here in my life, or any animals for that matter. I called at 7:28 AM on Saturday for the emergency vet and begged for anyone to come in. They told me one was on their way and instead we waited for 2 hours and one never showed up. My dog had to lay there in pain and cry as much as she could until her body physically couldn't take it anymore. She died suffering and crying and we have nobody to blame but that operator and the vet (Dr. Crystal) who was supposed to show up and NEVER did. I wouldn't recommend these people for euthenization and at that point, just let the animal die in peace in your arms at home. The photos I put are her last moments when she died at 8:50am on Saturday, April 27.

DR. HOOVER IS NOT A FRIEND TO ANIMALS OR YOU. So, We found a stray cat recently and she followed us home, and we want to take care of her, so my boss recommended this clinic to us and we decided to go for it. She has some teeth missing, I go to ask Dr.Hoover about it saying she has some missing and I'm worried about it, and he just had a smart remark like "I don't know how many teeth she has, I didn't count them" and like, that's fine, I wasn't asking for him to count them, I was asking the condition her mouth was in. He couldn't take the time out to look or even bother with it. Then, he told us she tested positive for FIV (which is something I now know many cats have and live perfectly happy, long lives.) He made it sound like she was terminally ill, and suggested euthanasia. We said that wasn't an option and he said okay, but we could tell our visit was over there. From that point, he only gave us half answers when i tried asking about the care that she would need and the food that she could have, honeslty, he barely answered anything, we've had to do a ton of research on our own. He tried to basically shoo us out of his office the moment we told him we weren't giving up on her. He was just very rude to us as well,seemed to care more about lining his pocket or getting out of the office than the animal he was seeing. Yall can be the judge. This was just our experience. The rest of the staff was very kind with us and her. We did however, find a different vet.

We recently had to change veterinarians because ours closed down her practice. While we expected this to be a stressful process, we have been very pleasantly surprised at how easy a transition is has been. We've interacted with 3 different vets and all have been very caring and professional. The techs have been great as well. It's a bit further than we had to drive before, but it is well worth it.
