How to Save Money at Royal Farewells - At Home Pet Euthanasia

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Dr Fasano was there to help me through the most difficult time of my life. He was so gentle with my beloved 15 year old Yorkie, Harry. His kindness and compassion made the process of saying goodbye so much easier. I strongly recommend his service.

We were so sad and upset about our precious Jazz. She was only nine and got sick and no matter what we couldn’t save her.Dr. Fasano from Royal Farewells was sent by god to help us with one of the hardest days of our life. To say goodbye to her. He was kind patient caring and loving. I would recommended Royal Farewells and Dr Fasano to anyone who needs (any of) his services. It takes a special person to help people in this time of need, and he is a very special person

Our beloved Cooper, a sweet and loyal companion of 15-1/2 years, was struggling in his final days, and we knew it was time to say goodbye. From the moment Dr. Fasano and his assistant arrived, we felt comforted by their calming presence. They were kind, patient, and gave us all the time we needed to process our grief and say our goodbyes. Dr. Fasano explained everything in a gentle way, which helped ease our minds during such an emotional moment. We were also so touched that they took time to look at photos and videos of Cooper when he was younger which we played on our TV. After Cooper passed, we were amazed by the sudden shift in energy. The sky cleared up, and the sun broke through the clouds, lighting up the house with warmth. It felt like a peaceful and fitting farewell. Although the day was incredibly difficult, we couldn't have imagined going through this experience anywhere other than the home where Cooper had spent his entire life. Dr. Fasano and his assistant made this painful process as peaceful and dignified as possible. Thank you, Dr. Fasano, for giving us this last gift helping Cooper pass peacefully in the comfort of his home, surrounded by love.

Dr. Fasano is truly an angel. He accommodated us last minute twice in just over 2 months. When our 13 year old unexpectedly became very sick and it was clear he would not pull through, we removed him from the hospital and reached out to Dr. Fasano to ask if he could meet us at our house that night. He rearranged his entire schedule to accommodate us. When he arrived he was so gentle and patient. This cat was my world and it was truly one of the worst days of my life. Being able to say goodbye at home rather than in a hospital made a horrible thing a little bit less horrible. 2 months later when our 19 year old declined to a point that he could not come back from, I knew that I only wanted to use Dr. Fasano. It was a last minute decision as we waited until we were absolutely sure, and Dr. Fasano rearranged his personal schedule for us for the second time. Again, he was compassionate, patient and empathetic. Saying goodbye to your loved ones is incredibly hard, but if you are fortunate enough to have the option to have at-home euthanasia, it really makes a world of difference. I hope it is a very long time before I have to use his services again, but I would recommend Dr. Fasano to anyone.

I had called a couple of other places before I called Royal Farewells and each time I got an answering service. When I called Royal Farewell it was almost evening and I expected the same but to my surprise Dr. Fasano answered the call himself. That made an impression on me and after speaking with him I knew I would request his service. Dr. Fasano cleared his schedule and came to help us the very next day. He understood our beloved Winky couldn't and shouldn't suffer another day. Dr. Fasano didn't have to do that for us but he had compassion for what we were going through. We can't thank Dr. Fasano enough for being respectful and patient with us as we said goodbye to our Winky. We truly believe Dr. Fasano is doing God's work helping people who are going through a very difficult and sad period in their lives as they say goodbye to their beloved pets. Thank you Dr. Fasano
