How to Save Money at Beloved Companions, LLC. Pet Funeral & Cremation Services

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

I suddenly & unexpectedly had to put down my cat of 15 years after a quick decline with suspected cancer. The vet I used chose Beloved Companions as the pet crematory they use. I received a phone call from Peaches within 3 hours of putting my cat to sleep. She confirmed that they had already had her in their care as I was concerned because I didn’t want my beloved cat to sit in a freezer for days. I was very specific with what I had wanted as my cat was polydactyl on all 4 feet and one of her front paws had 7 toes so I had wanted the prints of her front paws. It was explained to me that it would be difficult due to the natural process after death, however, they got me beautiful prints of all 4 of her paws. I received her remains back less than 48 hours of her passing and I couldn’t be more impressed with the care they gave my sweet girl. A huge thank you to the staff for all that they do.

About a week ago, my hamster, Mango, unexpectedly passed away and I decided that I wanted to get her cremated. Beloved Companions was one of the few places that offered cremations near me. I was able to quickly set up an appointment and a few days later, I drove an hour out to meet with the owner, Dave. He was extremely kind and understanding. Since I have a limited schedule due to family commitments, I had to schedule on a weekend and was told there'd be an extra $150 fee because of it, but Dave waved it off for me. We were given ample time to say our final goodbyes in a nice, private room. Yesterday, I picked her up and was surprised to have found that they had included not one but multiple inked sheets with her paw prints on them. The urn itself is a beautiful wooden box with a golden latch and has plenty of room to fit the fur clippings inside along with the ashes. Overall, Dave and his family have made such a hard time as pleasant as they could and I am so grateful for their service. I recommend to anyone looking for cremation services for their beloved pets as they are in very good, caring hands.

The compassion & Dignity that was shown to us by David O & his staff was greatly appreciated. We brought our Joey home today & David made a difficult day a lot easier. When we brought Joey there, we were brought into a nice quiet room where we said our goodbyes. Everything is done with compassion, I highly recommend Beloved Companions to anyone who needs their services.

Over the past few days we have had an amazing and most caring experience from Dave. He has so much compassion for his clients and their beloved pets. He was so kind to us when we brought him our dear Lucy on Monday, took excellent care of her and explained everything to us in such a caring manner. Today when we stopped by to bring Lucy home the same experience of caring and compassion was shown. I would highly recommend this business for anyone who wants their pet cared for in such a delicate and caring manner . Amazing experience during such a painful time.
