How to Save Money at Inspire Animal Hospital

Schedule Regular Vet Visits

One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.

Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions

Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.

Pet Insurance

Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Getting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask

Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:

Tell me about your experience with [pet type].

Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.

How do you handle emergencies?

You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.

How do you communicate with pet owners?

Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.

Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?

Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.

Do you have any questions for me about my pet?

This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.

Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?

Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

This is my first dog and she’s a rescue. I feel listened to and given all the information! A friend with an older dog referred us due to their thorough approach with her dog and my rambunctious former stray is being taken care of during our visits with the gentlest and most thorough approach. I love how the techs ask me questions like: can she have this treat? Are you good with us doing this quickly right here or want to go into a room? My calls asking clarifying questions are responded to with respect. We drive the little extra distance for this vet and hope you do too! Photo: clean and ample space in their rooms!

I love bringing my boy Pico to Inspire. The staff is always so good with him (he gets mad anxious at the vet) and make him feel safe. Nick is very welcoming and they always take care of us from arrival to departure. we love Inspire!

Inspire animal Hospital has been excellent taking care of my dogs Sasha and Bo Jangles. I called them in a panic about 10 minutes before closing when my 15 year old German Shepherd Sasha collapsed on a trail in Castle Rock and they said they would stay open for me to bring her in. Unfortunately, as I carried her down the hill she passed in my arms. I called them back and I said it’s probably not urgent because I think she’s gone. The entire staff stayed and greeted us, checked Sasha and confirmed what I suspected. They were all so friendly, caring and helpful. I have been back with my little Chihuahua Bo Jangles and they treat him like their own dog. A very caring staff and excellent, thorough explanations on what they did, next steps, meds and PRIOR to any care they always ask what services you would like and explain options before they administer care. If you are looking for a honest and caring animal hospital-you found it.

Dr. Rachel wolsky has treated our first foster beagle and now our beagle mix puppy. She and the staff have been great when the dogs were nervous. The clinic is updated and clean. Highly recommend so far!

We recently transferred over to Inspire after our vet was bought out by a big corporate and we've been incredibly happy with our choice! We've seen two of the vets here - our first visit was to induce vomit after a little bit of an fabric ingestion. Not only did they get me in right away, but the vet reassured me that our dog was a shredder so they felt confident anything left she'd pass. This reassurance to an overprotective pet mom was so helpful. Our second experience with Dr. Rachel has been wonderful. We came in for our annual and I had some concerns over our girl's behavior. Not only did she validate my concerns, but she suggested adequate options for testing to rule out anything medical that could be making an impact. While this was a little scary, we are SO grateful she offered the options, explained everything, and did the testing. Reassurance, again is everything especially when you have a pup who's had medical issues in the past with allergies and skin issues. Overall, we've been extremely happy with our experiences with front desks, techs, and the vets here. Shout out to the front desk staff that went out of her way to send me information & the vet techs that ensured our girl was taken care of always coming back happy when she came back from her blood draws, shots, and testing! It's clear that they really do care about making sure their patients are comfortable, reassured, and confidence moving forward. As someone who just wants to give their rescue the absolute best, having a vet practice that you can trust & rely on for answers is absolutely a godsend. They also have a room with a big window that our girl loves too! Big perk for keeping her content at the vet.
