Not bad but also not good

When claims are covered and you established your first claim (sending medical records for the previous year) they're great. Process is easy and you get your money fast. The issue is when there are problems, you need to call several departments, seems like no one reads the previous notes. I had a claim put on hold because they needed my dog's med records. My vet faxed them 3 times and they said they never got it. I had to drive over, had them print it, then email it to metlife. After all that, they claimed he had a pre-existing condition when the vet clearly stated he did not know the cause of the issue. I was told by an agent to submit an appeal, I did not need a veteran's signature for this issue. I got mail a month later that I needed the signature and that I used up 1 of 2 attempts at an appeal (which was not told to me earlier). I have since moved and I am not driving back to another city just to get this signature and was furious this was relayed by mail and not telephone or email. That said, if you work with the right person via customer service, they do help push your case to the claims department and try to help. The issue is this doesn't always work and you don't always get a response and everyone is confused or late on the information. They are supposed to cover vet visit costs (office fee), but because one diagnosis was pre-existing they refused to pay when all the other reasons for my visit were covered. Also, the pre-existing issue did not need a veterinarian so that fee should not have even been paired with the visit. Furthermore, the app shows you claim # but doesn't tell you which claim it was for or what the diagnosis was so it's difficult to track down what claim you want to look at. Overall it's great and fast when it works and the claim is covered. But when there are issues or problems, good luck with getting it fixed if at all.

Sandy

My 13 year old dog. Sandy became sick one night, vet found a tumor, tried surgery, but cancer had spread to far,had to euthanize. Insurance paid 60% of everything, including cremation. Very nice empathetic people.

Great Experience

From the start of my introduction to Metlife Pet Insurance through claim reimbursement was a breeze. The information was comprehensive online, and the agent was professionsl, courteous, respectful, patient and quite knowledgeable. All of my questons were completely answered and thorough with the agent's responses. The process was easy, fast, and efficient. I have no complaints whatsoever. The ease of signing up and receiving my first reimbursement for my claim was excellent. I highly recommend Metlife Pet Insurance to all pet lovers (cats, dogs).

Look no further.

I called to get the best prices and tailor to my needs. Customer service rep was awesome, she not only went over EVERYTHING, but also gave me advice she didn't need to. I had Embrace, and they were making me wait a year for pr-exsisting conditions for a year starting Dec of 2021 and would run out Dec 2022. The conditions were worms that were resolved and cleared. When my kittens came home I was feeding too much as once, so they regurgitated. I called the vet for advice and she told us to feed them more frequently with smaller portions and it would resolve , which they did.. Embrace's policy was if something happened before Dec 2022, the clock would restart again from that date for another year. I was paying about $45 a month, no wellness included. Fast forward to MetLife Pet, I saw people on my various pet sites on Facebook mention MetLife Pet and make sure to CALL them, not to sign up. I told MetLife pet about the preexisting conditions and they said it was fine. Accident started from day 1 and illness started 14 days later. That was after the soap notes were read. I have a policy that is 250 annual deductible, 100 percent coverage. It covers wellness as well, and a host of other goodies. I pay about 61 dollars monthly. My cats prescription fleat/tick meds and heart-worm meds run me about 170 every 3 months, the yearly exam between fecal samples, vaccines and exams cost me about 450 dollars. I actually break even on the insurance, and if anything would happen to my cats, I have piece of mind I have coverage. I have called them several times regarding various questions, I am ocd, and like no surprises. They are always very nice, take their time answering. One of the best customer service I have ever encountered. I do have to pay out of pocket for reimbursement, but Their turn around time is super fast. I just ordered pills for my cats last week, they were shipped but were not here until tonight. I submitted as soon as I purchased and I just got an email tonight saying my claim has been approved and will be in my account later this week. I can't say enough about this company, I am super, super excited to have found them, and drive people crazy that have pets telling them to sign up for the insurance. My advice is to have a credit card with a good limit used just for the cats if possible. I have it put into my checking and then I disperse it to the credit cards.

Excellent Program

A life-long dog owner, this is the first time that I have purchased pet insurance. I could not be more pleased with the experience. Filing a claim is easy, and customer services has been friendly and helpful. Claims are processed and payment deposited in my bank account in about 10 days. Amazing!

Metlife pet insurance

I can't say enough praise about the process of Metlife! Our sales advisor explained everything in detail, gave us choices and really took his time with us! The process to submit claims our SO easy and it gets deposited right to your account! If you LOVE your furbabies, you jeed bvb to absolutely insure them do bvb they get all the care they need. The price is fantastic! You can rest knowing your baby is covered ❤

GREAT PET INSURANCE

My fog would be blind without Pet First

After insuring with Pet First, ny dog became diabetic and then blind. With the insurance I was !able to have her sight restored! I tell Every dog owner about Pet First!!!
