A literal lifesaver for Duchess.........
This insurance has turned out to be a better investment than my healthcare insurance, dollar for dollar. I've had dogs most of my 63 years, but never got pet insurance until the summer of 2008 when I made the decision to buy some for my female pitbull Duchess. I found Duchess in the woods in GA about 5 years ago. She was in poor condition, having been overused for breeding and fighting purposes. She recovered from her injuries and severe heartworm infestation and was healthy until later in 2008. She was attacked by a much larger and younger male pitbull and suffered many deep bites and lacerations before I retrieved my gun and killed the other dog. I took her to pet emergency where she was stabilized and kept overnight. The next morning I picked her up and took her to our regular veterinarian, Walt Gregg, who did the surgeries that morning. The bill from both facilities was more than $1100.00. I submitted the billing, a copy of the medical records and the claim form to ASPCA Insurance via fax, got reimbursed more than $650.00 and the check arrived within a couple weeks of when I submitted the claim. It was better service than from my own healthcare insurance plan! Had that been the only time I needed to use the insurance it would be worth continuing to pay the small monthly premium anyway. But, in late October 2009 Duchess stopped walking. The expenses really were not that much so I was not going to file a claim for them. Then, after two months of no improvement I was referred to a neurosurgeon and as part of the appointment, Duchess had a MRI. Ultimately, I submitted two claims to ASPCA Insurance that totaled more than $2800.00, this time emailing the claim! Being able to either fax or email the claim saved so much time and effort! I received $1500.00 reimbursement and it again arrived within a couple or three weeks. If I did not have this insurance I could not have afforded to get the MRI for Duchess and consequently she would not have gotten an accurate diagnosis. Moreover, her condition was so bad the day I took her for the appointment and MRI that had I not gotten good news I was going to put her down the next day. But, knowing I had coverage and what the limit was ($1500) I was able to get the treatment Duchess needed and now she is very much improved. So in a very real way, Duchess is only alive and now enjoying her life because I had ASPCA insurance. For her it was a virtual life saver!

Simply Outstanding Service!!
I am beyond wonderfully pleased with Embrace! We acquired our insurance in Dec 2009. After having paid only TWO months of dues, our 3 year old English Mastiff had a rare occurrence, a twisting of his small intestine, which ultimately sent him into emergency surgery and a week-long, touch-and-go stay in the hospital. I called Embrace to make them aware of the situation and inquire about and verify our coverage in order to make a decision about treatment. They were kind and concerned and assured me of our coverage and limits, enabling us to make an informed choice. These decisions are so difficult to make in an emergent moment, but I felt we had made a great choice in Embrace when I did the research to purchase pet insurance. We ended up with over $12,000 in costs for treatment and Embrace paid every cent of our $10,000 annual limit!! Again, after only two months of payments from us! What a testimony of integrity and reliability in a company! Embrace will have my business for years to come and I would, and do, recommend them to every pet owner I know!!

100% satisfied
I can never spread the word enough- Embrace has been one of the best decisions we've made. I usually don't write reviews, but I feel so strong about our experiences with Embrace. From the start, where you can choose your policy online and edit as you'd like, to submitting claims that are responded to and handled immediately, to the incredibly fast refunds they send back. Not to mention that when you call the customer service number, or email, you actually get a live person right away, no automated messages, and they tackle whatever question or concern you may have. If you are considering pet insurance, honestly don't look any further-Embrace is the ONLY way to go!

no wait claim approvals.
We can't believe how easy and quick it is for claim approvals. Our bulldog has had numerous health issues and the process was seamless in getting reimbursement.I wish my own health plan was as easy.

Expensive Plan but Worth It
I insured my puppy Golden Retriever never expecting to need it. When he was only 3 he developed a cardiac sarcoma that killed him in 1 day. AKC had paid for earlier chest xrays (they showed nothing) & for the $3000 final bill, excluding cremation. I have no complaints about this plan & would get it again but it looks like they've raised their rates considerably in 2 months.

Excellent pet insurance
When we got our pug Augie last year, we decided to buy health insurance for him, as we'd had a dog before and the veterinary costs were often quite expensive. After doing our research, we settled on Embrace, and we're thrilled that we did. Embrace has been helpful and efficient from day one; they're quick to respond to inquiries, and quick to send reimbursements for covered visits. They also seem to understand the important relationship humans can have with their pets. Kudos to you, Embrace!

It's still an insurance company. Still sheisty.
I reviewed my options and chose Embrace based on other people's recommendation. No surprise, on my first claim Embrace found reasons not to cover my puppy. I signed up for coverage on 2/1/10. I was told that after a 14 day waiting period, my puppy that we had adopted from a rescue would be covered as of 2/15/10. On 2/22/10, I took my puppy to the vet for his final set of booster shots and had the vets fill out a claim form. Upon filing my claim, I was told that since he didn't see a vet during his 14 day waiting period, that he wouldn't be covered until March. NO ONE EVER TOLD ME THE DOG HAD TO SEE A VET DURING THE WAITING PERIOD IN ORDER FOR COVERAGE TO TAKE PLACE. EVER. Still, even though he was apparently NOT covered during that month, Embrace still charged me for February's premium, even though he was NOT covered and refuse to reimburse me for this month of non-coverage. Like every other insurance company I've ever dealt with, if they can find an excuse NOT to pay, they won't. Maybe this would be a good thing to have in terms catastrophic situations - dog gets hit by a car, ingests poisonous material, etc., but for one's average pet costs - shots, check-ups, etc., I don't think this insurance helps at all. I'm giving them a "2" rather than a "1" because their online response time was quite fast... but only to tell me that I wasn't covered and they couldn't help me or refund my money. One would think they would be empathetic to rescue dogs who may not have detailed history of care, but one would be wrong.
I can't help but feel mislead and cheated by Embrace pet insurance and their not being forthcoming on stipulations required for my puppy to have coverage, and then refusing to reimburse me for the month's premium they charged when my puppy was not covered.

Saves me big bucks
I haven't even had my policy a year, and my little girl Beatrice has already been to the vet 3 times with stomach related issues. The last visit the bill was over $1,400! Having this insurance has saved me a lot of money and gives me the piece of mind that if she gets sick, she will be taken care of. I also love the fact that ASPCA insurance donates a portion to promote animal welfare. It makes me feel good to be a part of that.
