No customer service

I had the Wellness Plus Plan for my puppy. The only difference between the Wellness Plus and Wellness Plan is that the Wellness Plus Plan includes the cost of neutering. My puppy was neutered in the first year of cover and the vet's invoice was sent to AKC and was duly settled by them. The next year I received my renewal documents and paid the premium quoted. What I didn't realize, until the subsequent renewal, was that AKC had not downgraded my policy to the Wellness Plan since my puppy had now been neutered, they were still charging me for the Wellness Plus Plan which was no longer appropriate. When I queried this with AKC they said I had to notify them in writing that my dog had been neutered. I told them that not only did they have written confirmation from the vet, but that they had also settled the claim and were therefore well aware my dog had been neutered. AKC refused to refund the additional premium and suffice to say I immediately cancelled my policy. AKC is an arrogant and inflexible company, offering no customer service. I am now with a company who value and respect their customers. Also AKC constantly paid only a portion of my claim, as they considered the bills to be 'unreasonable'. I can't help that I live in an expensive area and in fact when you get a quote you have to enter your zip code and I'm sure your premium is adjusted accordingly. They should pay me back the full cost of my dog's care, as that is how much it costs me to provide care for him in my area.

Wonderful Company

We've had PetsBest for 1 year now for our 3 dogs (2 Greyhounds and a senior Golden) and have been extremely pleased. Even with these tough economic times, our policy only increased in cost a little this year. PetsBest was one of the few companies that would even insure our senior dog, and the cost is only a little more than for our young boys. PetsBest also covers acupuncture/holistic care, should you be interested in an alternative approach to pet health care. All claims were paid promptly, with no hassles, and the customer service has been outstanding! I highly recommend this company.

excellent

I just wanted to say that Embrace is legitimate in everything that they do. They are sincere and caring and genuiely care about pets and their owners. I only had a policy for about 2 months. My little girl had severe genetic heart problems and Embrace covered everything to make her comfortable. For the treatment and the price Embrace cannot be beat by anyone..... When the time is right for me to get another puppy I will for sure buy another policy with Embrace.

Don't Let Your Pet Be Without It!!!

My family has been in the insurance business for over 30 years (auto, home, life, & business). I can tell you this is the BEST company out there as far as coverage goes! The fact that they do not have a schedule of benefits is the biggest plus! The premium you pay for the coverage is comparable to all other pet insurance companies that DO have a schedule of benefits. I can say that I have had nothing but a great experience with this company. Their customer service is always very FAST and very FRIENDLY... and they speak perfect ENGLISH!!! I have had to use my insurance a couple of times, and it has saved me over $2000 so far. The best part though above all.... when my pet has an emergency or an ailment, I can tell the vet to do what they need to do in my pet's best interest IRREGARDLESS OF PRICE. I let them know I have the best pet insurance money can buy! Claims turnaround has been very fast every time I have used it. I scan my forms and email them as this seems to be the fastest and most convenient way. I have ALL 3 of my dogs insured with Pets Best, and any other pets I get will be insured from day one as well!!!

Very good coverage, price really went up!

I bought Pets Best insurance as soon as I brought my puppy home. After much research I went with Pets Best Pets First plan and added on their Best Wellness plan. I also paid the additional amount to guarantee the cost would not go up for the first 8 or 10 years. I was hoping to not really use the insurance during the first year! Unfortunately, my dog,Lucky, had some kidney infections and stomach issues. Pets Best did live up to their claims of fast claims settlements. They paid exactly what they had promised when I sign up for the insurance. The only complaint I have about those claims is that they mislabeled the reason for the claim. When I called they said that it was a computer thing and that it did not matter. They did nothing to fix it. Now comes the real complaint with Pets Best. I just got notice that they are being underwritten by Aetna Insurance Company. My insurance went up $149.56 and they are no longer honoring the guarantee price that I had paid extra for when I went with them. Checking around, they are $149.56 higher than the very best plan one of their competitors has. I will be doing more research this afternoon and will probably change companies. If I had to rate the company on my first year's turnaround for claims I would rate them a 9. As far as new cost and not living up to thier promise to hold the line on the price, I would give them a 3!

They made things right

Since my review on 2/8/09, the customer service manager has apologized to me. I was determined to get this resolved and had gotten in touch with their sales manager. HE WAS WONDERFUL! Not only did he listen, he believed me. He then made it his mission to solve the issue. He personally did a conference call with me and my credit card company. They concluded that it was a technical issue between P.B. electronic system and my credit card company's electronic system. My policy was reinstated as if it had never lapsed. I am pleased to say that my claims have been reimbursed, and the offic manager? We have a great rapport she apologized profusely and is now instrumental in getting my claims taken care of. Immediately after this was resolved, I thought, "Maybe hell does occasionally freeze over!" :) I just love it when honest people are heard and given the benefit of the doubt! Thank you for letting your heart get involved!!! I stand corrected regarding Pets Best. You've redeemed youself!

Insure your pet with Embrace now!

I am recommending Embrace to all my friends who have pets. Taking this insurance is one of the smartest things I have done. Even though my dog is only 4 years old, she has had $2200 in vet expenses over the past few months, and Embrace has paid everything they said they would.

Friendly & Knowledgeable Cust Srvc in the USA!

Being in the "customer service" world for many years, I know how important it is for companies to receive feedback about their products and service and they need to know which agents are representing them well. The agent I spoke with the other day (Vickie) was both friendly and knowledgeable and I really appreciate that. I also appreciate any company that keeps jobs in the United States!!! When will the other companies realize that you get what you pay for? Yes, a company may be able to save some money on hourly employees by shipping jobs overseas, but the quality is just not there. It's nothing personal, those folks just want to work and I don't begrudge them that, however, again, if the service isn't being provided and there's also a communication difficulty, it just isn't a good customer experience. I go out of my way to work with companies that keep jobs here, whenever possible. I digress; my main point is that I think Vickie is a keeper! Now, with all that being said, I'm about to make a claim and I hope that I can still rate a "10" after. My dog started limping and I took her the next day to her long-time veterinarian, who advised that she needs surgery on her back leg! Turns out that what she has falls under one of the provisions that isn't covered until your policy has been in effect for a year and - thank God - this situation occurred about a week or ten days after that one year mark. Whew! However, I hope we're not going to have a problem and I'll be back on this board to advise anyone who's interested as to the outcome. Thanks so much - Goldie
