Best Decision Ever!

When our daughter's new pup developed chronic health issues that required many on going vet visits at great expense, we made the decision to get pet Insurance for our new Shih Tzu puppy.....just in case. Well, low and behold, he was diagnosed with an eye condition that ultimately led to surgery. The first done by our regular vet did not obtain lasting results so we were referred to a Veterinarian Specialist Hospital where a 2nd surgery was performed successfully by an Opthamolagist. Though expensive, all our claims submitted were covered and a full 80% reimbursed to our account. Definitely choosing Furkin was the BEST decision and we have no regrets.

I would give 6 stars if I could - these guys are Furkin awesome

My flying squirrel - schnauzer mix broke her leg 5 days after we got her and 3 days before I bought Furkin insurance. Furkin has been the best investment in my or my dog's life - no exaggeration. Bills for my 10lb dog topped $10k, and without insurance, we may have had to have made some difficult decisions. Claiming was straightforward and payment was swift, with great updates throughout. The only call I got from Furkin was to help me set up a different payment method so that they could pay me faster. Top notch insurer.

Surprisingly no hassle

I was worried about this insurance as it’s relatively new and cheaper. I do like the simple structure of it. Turned out I never had issue claiming insurance reimbursement so I’m quite happy about the outcome

Great pet insurance

I have a dog covered and I don’t regret! All the time I needed to take her to the vet for ear or urine infection I claimed my invoice and got the proportional amount back in very short time! I always recommend Furkin to friends!

Exceptional Customer Service

We have yet to require to use our insurance, thankfully. However the customer service when I have called for general questions as been exceptional. I love their recording while you wait for an agent, it’s clever !!

Monthly Cost

Monthly cost varies due to multiple factors including: species, breed, age, gender, and postal code, with premiums averaging $55/month.  

Coverage

Comprehensive accident & illness coverage with up to 80% reimbursement. Use any licensed vet in Canada or the U.S. All plans include coverage for exam fees & taxes, 24/7 telehealth powered by Vetsdirect Limited, and over $3000 in additional pet owner support benefits annually.

Payout Limits

Up to $20,000 in coverage annually.

Deductible

As low as $100 annually

Age Limits

Pets must be at least 7 weeks and under 14 years old to enroll. Once enrolled, coverage will continue for as long as the pet remains enrolled.

Waiting Period

For Accidents – 48 Hours For Illnesses – 14 Days For Cruciate Ligament Conditions – 180 Days
