I rarely write reviews but really felt the need to praise the folks at Heart of Chelsea in Park Slope. They supported me through the awful process of finding out my beloved kitty was ill and putting her down. I felt VERY supported by Dr. Torchia especially — he patiently explained everything, called me multiple times to check in, helped me feel comfortable I was doing the right thing when the time came. He was so empathic and sweet and practical. Honestly most human doctors I have encountered aren’t that caring. Yes it’s expensive. I feel like pet adoption needs to come with a price disclosure of what vet care can cost in your area so owners go into it with their eyes wide open. It’s not really the vets’ fault. It will be a long time before I get another pet but I would not hesitate to use Heart of Chelsea.

I love this veterinary practice. What a gem. Went in for the first time yesterday with my new puppy, and all members of staff - from the front office to the exam room to the billing - were thorough, thoughtful, warm and professional. They even filled in some gaps re: vaccinations and puppy care that other vets I visited didn’t quite cover. Congrats to this office! You’ve got a great team. Highly recommend this veterinary practice for your pets!

I was referred here by some of the other dog parents in Prospect Park. I was becoming increasingly frustrated with my previous vet. I am very glad they did. I have to say that the front desk staff is amazing. Which is very important! I have only spoken to one of the vet so far but I have had rave reviews of the vets from my Park friendS

Three stars because the staff is pleasant but they are charging an OBSCENE amount of money for vaccines. $70 for a rabies or distemper vaccine for a cat is not standard, it's triple/double what you should be paying. Charging $70 for a $25 vaccine discourages people to bring their pets to the vet, especially if you have more than one. If you've got a healthy pet, take them to a vetco vaccine location for their vaccines.
