How to Save Money at Wood Ranch Animal Hospital
Schedule Regular Vet Visits
One of the best ways to save on vet bills is to prevent expensive health issues before they develop. By scheduling regular wellness checkups, your vet can detect health issues early, helping you to avoid costly treatments and surgeries down the road.
Price Shop for Pet Prescriptions
Oftentimes our fur babies are prescribed human drugs off-label. Your vet is apt to charge more for these medications than you would pay at your local pharmacy. In fact, big-box or chain pharmacies can offer steep discounts. So it’s best to price shop.
Pet Insurance
Most pet insurance providers will pay between 80% and 90% of the vet bill. You can even get coverage for routine care and things like vaccinations and dental cleanings. If you do the math, you’ll most likely find that pet insurance makes financial sense in the long run as well as gives you peace of mind.

Get Quotes & CompareGetting to Know Your New Vet: Essential Questions to Ask
Choosing a new veterinarian is an important decision for any pet owner. You want to find someone who is competent, compassionate, and a good fit for you and your fur baby. To help you get the most out of your first appointment, here's a list of essential questions to ask your new vet:
Tell me about your experience with [pet type].
Different vets have different areas of specialization. Some are experts with cats, some dogs, some pocket pets, and some horses. Knowing that your vet has vast experience treating your specific type of pet can bring you peace of mind.
How do you handle emergencies?
You must know what to do in case of a pet medical emergency. Inquire what after-hours policy the clinic has, whether they have on-site emergency care available, and if they have a relationship with any nearby emergency animal hospitals.
How do you communicate with pet owners?
Good communication is key to building a trusting relationship with your vet. Ask how they prefer to communicate (phone calls, emails, online portal) and how often you can expect to hear from them.
Are there any breed-specific health concerns I should be aware of?
Some breeds are predisposed to certain health conditions. Knowing what to watch out for can help you catch problems early and get your pet the treatment they need.
Do you have any questions for me about my pet?
This is a great question to ask because the answer will show that the vet is interested in getting to know your pet as an individual and is willing to listen to your concerns.
Bonus question: Can I take a tour of your facility?
Getting a feel for the clinic's environment can help you and your pet feel more comfortable during your visits. Remember, you’re not just looking for a veterinarian, you’re looking for a partnership. Do not be afraid to ask these questions and any others you can think of. Any vet worth their salt will be happy to answer them. Because the more informed you are, the better equipped you'll be to make decisions about your pet's care! And that should be every vet’s top priority.

Mom of two cats here. Dr. Park and Dr. Matt are really great with animals. They are knowledgeable, experienced, and efficient in decision-making, yet they remain caring, patient, and attentive at all times. The staff is also exceptional, always smiling and accommodating. Vet visits with the cats are not the easiest, but they make me and my cats feel comfortable, and I truly appreciate their professionalism and dedication to providing top-notch care. The facility is well-equipped and conveniently located with ample parking. I highly recommend them!

So glad I found Chloe Park DVM. She is a wonderful vet ... not only is she extremely skilled but also so kind and supportive. I followed her from where she used to work. My dogs are my sons with tails. She had detected a soft heart murmur on my 13-year-old Maltese a while back and now that it's gotten a bit stronger she has recommended a drug treatment plan. I trust her! She does not perform unnecessary procedures until they are necessary and she keeps costs down. I really appreciate that. My newly adopted Malti-Poo, Eddie, is also under her expert care. So thank you Wood Ranch Animal Hospital!

I am the proud owner of four dogs. Dr Park is caring first and foremost, professional, approachable, and really the only vet that we trust with our dogs. The new facility in Wood Ranch is a beautiful location, friendly staff, and most importantly it was easy and quick to get an appointment. If you are looking for a new vet, I highly recommend. She genuinely cares about the animals she treats, whereas I have felt most vets are more concerned about money.

Our dog was diagnosed with Addison’s about 4.5 years ago. Due to the negligence of a prior vet, we almost lost her in the process. We had become very skeptical about whose care she would be under going forward. After our first visit with Dr. Matt, all of our worries disappeared. He was professional yet compassionate, genuine and extremely knowledgeable. We have trusted him ever since and he has been amazing with our animals. Upon recently finding out that he was no longer at the clinic we used, we were deeply saddened. We had positive experiences at the previous clinic but Dr. Matt was the main reason we continued to go there. When we found out that he opened his own clinic recently, we were so excited and relieved to find him! It was extremely easy to schedule an appointment via email. The staff was super quick to respond and got us scheduled right away. The day of our visit, we were immediately greeted with warm and welcoming smiles upon entering the facility. The girls at the front were very professional, efficient and friendly. We had a great feeling right from the start. We were very impressed with the facility overall. It was very clean and spacious both in the front waiting area and the room we were taken into. As always, Dr. Matt thoroughly addressed our concerns. He never makes us feel rushed and answers any questions we have. Hands down we fully trust our animals under his care. The checkout process was very simple and quick. Overall the staff was great. It was a very positive experience. We cannot say enough about Dr. Matt but you won’t be disappointed! We HIGHLY recommend Wood Ranch Animal Hospital.

Dr. Matt and his staff at Wood Ranch Animal Hospital are the greatest! We followed Dr. Matt from his old location. My pet and I are very thankful he stayed in Simi Valley. As a child I remember going to the vet with my grandparents. It felt like we were visiting a close family friend. Sadly, I thought that level of attention, care and genuine kindness were things of the past. I have found all of those things here with Dr. Matt. Below is a pic of my very happy camper :)
