My newly adopted puppy, Cocoa is a Lab/Shepard mix. I had just signed up for Trupanion Pet Insurance Coverage and 4 days later She was diagnosed with Demodex, generalized. My Vet's office helped me submit the invoice for the lab tests, medication, etc., and Trupanion was professional and efficient in processing my claim and covered 90% of the cost!! I am soooooo happy I chose to enroll my Cocoa in Trupanion when the 30 FREE trial was expiring. I highly recommend this company to ALL new pet owners. The FREE 30 trial was an excellent idea on their part. In addition, their continued communication via email regarding my enrollment of Cocoa and the through the processing of the claim was superior customer service. | | Injury/Illness: skin problem Breed: Mixed Breed dog |

10/10 A wake-up-call. Our fist puppy, Bandit got sick , 5/2/2013

After many many months of discussing the possibility for our family to become pet owners, we made the decision and adopted a male Morkie. We named him Bandit. Bandit is so cute that we couldn't resist but to LOVE him at first sight. As you can imagine (first time pet owners) he was (still is) the center of attention at our house. Since he was our new "baby" we wanted to make sure he was healthy so we schedule his first vet appointment asap. The appointment went well and our Bandit got his first round of vaccinations during that visit. The staff at the vet clinic discussed all the necessary information in order to make sure we knew how to take care of a puppy; to include pet insurance, Trupanion. To be honest, I looked at my husband and asked, pet what? insurance? why do we need to purchase that for? To make the long story short, I wasnt convinced but decided to enrolled Bandit immediately in the 30 day trial to get some time to do more research. Guess what? the next day, Bandit got sick. We didn't know what was wrong or what to do. I called the vet clinic but they were closed. They recommended for us to take him to the Emergency Services Clinic immediately. After many hours of examination, the vet decided that Bandit needed to spend the night at the clinic and proceed to give me a possible diagnostic and an estimate of the cost for her services. We've been with Trupanion for a little over a year with both our Yellow Lab (1 yr old) and Kitten (1 yr old). Our vet recommended them when we were getting their first checkups. 8/10 Pretty good for the most part,
Our 1 year old Great Dane has been insured with Trupanion since she was about 6months old.
In the last few months we've been trying to figure out what was wrong with her back (she was walking funny)... after xrays, an MRI, spinal fluid testing, and more we still had no definitive answers.
